This exercise in Glenn Harold’s book titled ‘The Answer’ is an excellent way to evaluate and figure out what areas of life you’re neglecting; on top of figuring out a correct balance.
I do this monthly to figure out where I’m at, and for the first time in about 7 years, I’ve realized that living here in Thailand is not enough for me anymore. Here are my categories.
Family & Friends – 6.5: This is actually the highest it’s been in more than a half decade, given the fact that my mother broke communication with me for the first time in a year on a fb comment post (lol). I feel my best friends are family: Phoenix, New York, Melbourne, and up and coming friends in Bishkek and Perth; I’m very content with what’s happening in my life in this category.
Career – 7.5: Although the change in my life is happening: podcast, website, and the public speaking realm of things are always solid. People from Norway, Colombia, USA, Aruba, Malaysia and so many other countries are proud listeners….especially my wonderful Indians. This is getting better now that I’ve done away with procrastination.
Romantic Relationships – 0: Until I leave Thailand, this will always be zero. LOL
Fun & Hobbies – 6: Yes, I just had a wonderful time in Kuala Lumpur, but I feel this area can be much improved if I become more content with my life.
Personal Development – 8.5: This is always high, especially because personal development is part of my lifestyle.
Physical Environment – 3.5: For the last three weeks I’ve been doing some soul-searching. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s this feeling I’m having…or have been having. Then, I applied for jobs around Asia…..following the moment was an overwhelming feeling of peace. I said, “damnit, the time has arrived.” It’s time for me to move forward in opportunities.
Health – 6: I’ve been eating terribly, but after buying a good amount of Herbalife, I’m now back on track.
Wealth – 9.75: This is the highest it’s ever been in my life and I’m absolutely beside myself in the best possible way because my savings is piling up. What was it piling up for? Maybe for me to be ready when the call comes.
