Here’s the rundown for basic ESL learners and expressing likes and dislikes.

Likes: I like, I like _________ very much/a lot, I love ________.

Dislikes: I don’t like, I don’t like __________ very much/ at all, I hate ________.

A noun, infinitive, or gerund can follow the verbs like, love, and hate.

I like TV. (Noun)

I love to watch TV (infinitive)

I hate watching TV (gerund)

Question Words

Do you like _________?

Why don’t you like _________?

What does Cheryl like?

How do you feel about these things down below? Write or say true sentences using love, like, don’t like, or hate.

  2. documentaries
  3. listening to the radio
  4. talk shows
  5. reading magazines
  6. speaking English
