Adverbs of manner are used to describe how we do something or how often we do something. Here’s a breakdown and an exercise for you guys!

Dive safely.

They’re moving fast/quickly.

It’s difficult to do it well.

You can’t learn it easily. 

Divers train hard.

They hurt themselves badly. 

He prepares each dive carefully.

Complete the text with the adverb form of the following words: bad, careful, fast, good, hard, patient, slow

In my family, we like snowboarding in Hokkaido.  My brother loves snowboarding (a) ________________, sometimes he goes down the hill at about 35 kph!  I know that professional snowboarders go as fast as 80 kph, but that’s because they train and work (b) ______________ every day.  I don’t want to snowboard professionally, but I think it’s important that you can snowboard (c) _____________________ when you live in the mountains like we do.  My sister is learning to snowboard at the moment.  She’s quite (d) ___________________ – she falls and has accidents all the time.  However, she’s only five!  My grandfather snowboards (e) ________________ and (f) ___________________ now because he doesn’t want to fall and hurt himself.  The only person who doesn’t like snowboarding is my grandmother.  She sits and waits (g) ____________________ in the lounge.  Then we all go out to eat together.
