So, here I am sitting in a nicely air-conditioned room, tucked away in the outer suburbs of Bangkok while sitting in front of a brilliant doctor.
We began going over compound noun/adjective enunciations, and then in the blink of an eye, I realized that I’ve been pronouncing the word “endeavor” incorrectly for almost a decade.
I was distraught — literally. I had my hands on my head, shaking my head uncontrollably while staring at google.
“Arsenio, don’t worry. It happens to the best of us,” said the doctor.
However, at the very moment I realized that we have everything at our fingertips. By looking at the phonetics in the dictionary (preferably the online dictionary because it has sound), you can look up a 3/4 syllable word, enunciate it out loud, go to google, type in the world and look at the phonetics before playing the sound. Brilliant way to practice your pronunciation!
This is going to be a weekly podcast of “how to” based on demand. My regular podcasts is based on a course (and I will create a course on my subscription website for pronunciation). Also, I’ll try posting two ESL tasks every week, too, so stay tuned for lots of bits! Podcast down below!
