Spartan Races Galore in Thailand — 2020!

I’m sitting in front of an executive at one of the biggest banks in Thailand and abruptly he says, “registration opens tomorrow!” It was a random comment at the time since we had been discussing the ever-so-annoying-coronavirus, but I shifted my attention to him and said: “huh?”

He said, “Spartan Race Thailand!”

I was in disbelief. I was in awe. I didn’t know what to say. Should I ask him where? How? When? What? Who said? What’s happening? I told him, “get the hell outa here! Show me!” He quickly went to his phone and there it was, three spectacularly magnificent dates of the race here in Thailand this year.

After going on a one year hiatus after the Spartan Trifecta in Hua Hin, people rambled about it having poor reviews, complaints, etc. I thought it was perfectly placed, but the mountains and going through 13km of hills was a daunting task for my joints.

2019 it was crickets. I had already opted out of races for the subsequent year because that 2018 ripped the soul out of me. I just felt, “man, f*** that! That was just soul-crushing. I damn near died!” Not only me, but another massive trainer (bodybuilder) by the name of Vishal, who works at the lab, was found by me….crouching over, eyes red beyond comprehension and gasping for life during the bucket carry towards the end of the Spartan Beast. However, that was a resurgence and gave me a ton of energy to finish because I said, “wow, I’m not in this condition and have about 25% of the muscle!”

I finished, stopped doing Spartan Races, then flirted with the potential of doing one in Vietnam this year (as a matter of fact, tomorrow).

I said, “man, I just don’t have it in me. I just don’t wanna do it. What are you trying to prove, Arsenio?”

Until I saw dates at Chiang Mai (not interested), but the ultra-gorgeous Krabi (beach camp) and a forest camp in GORGEOUS Songkhla!

I HAD TO!

Rich Dad Poor Dad | S5 – E13 | Understanding | Get Rich Quick? TERRIBLE Decision

The reason I started with the story of the richest men in America
is to illustrate the flaw in believing that money will solve all problems. That is why I cringe whenever I hear people ask me how to get rich quicker, or where they should start. I often hear, “I’m in debt, so I need to make more money.”

Rich Dad Poor Dad

But more money will often not solve the problem. In fact, it may compound the problem. Money often makes obvious our tragic human

Cash flow tells the story of how a person handles money.

flaws, putting a spotlight on what we don’t know. That is why, all too often, a person who comes into a sudden windfall of cash—let’s say an inheritance, a pay raise, or lottery winnings—soon returns to the same financial mess, if not worse, than the mess they were in before. Money only accentuates the cash-flow pattern running in your head. If your pattern is to spend everything you get, most likely an increase in cash will just result in an increase in spending. Thus, the saying, “A fool and his money is one big party.”

Today, doctors face financial challenges I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy: insurance companies taking control of the business, managed health care, government intervention, and malpractice suits. Today, kids want to be famous athletes, movie stars, rock stars, beauty queens, or CEOs because that is where the fame, money, and prestige are. That is the reason it is so hard to motivate kids in school today.

They know that professional success is no longer solely linked to academic success, as it once was.

Because students leave school without financial skills, millions
of educated people pursue their profession successfully, but later find themselves struggling financially.
They work harder but don’t get ahead. What is missing from their education is not how to make money, but how to manage money. It’s called financial aptitude—what you do with the money once you make it, how to keep people from taking it from you, how to keep it longer, and how to make that money work hard for you. Most people don’t understand why they struggle financially because they don’t understand cash flow. A person can be highly educated, professionally successful, and financially illiterate. These people often work harder than they need to because they learned how to work hard, but not how to have their money work hard for them.

Rich Dad Poor Dad | S5 – E12 | Assets vs. Liabilities | What’s Your Cash-flow Pattern?

Are you a poor, middle, or rich cash-flow possessing individual?

Well, let me try to break this down in blog form. If you want the amazing podcast, make sure you scroll down to the bottom for it.

Cash-flow of a poor person

Your job gives you your salary, which then goes to your expenses: taxes, food, transportation, clothes, etc. That’s all you have. You have zero assets, and fortunately, you have zero liabilities.

Cash-flow of a middle-class person

Your job gives you your salary, but instead of going to expenses, it goes down to your balance sheet in the category titled “liabilities.” This has your mortgage, car loans, credit card loan debt, school loans, etc. After you pay for your liabilities, then the remaining money goes back to your expenses: taxes, etc.

Cash-flow of The Rich

You do not have a job or salary. Better yet, your money starts in your balance sheet in the assets category which has real estate, stocks, bonds, notes, intellectual property. Those assets never get paid with liabilities. In fact, it goes back up to your income statement, which is the rental income, dividends, interest, and royalties. The only monthly expenses you have are taxes and a possible mortgage payment.

Which one are you?

Rich Dad Poor Dad | S5 – E8 | Should Prices Go Up?

Because it is ignorance about money that causes so much greed and fear,” said rich dad. “Let me give you some examples. A doctor, wanting more money to better provide for his family, raises his fees. By raising his fees, it makes health care more expensive for everyone.

It hurts the poor people the most, so they have worse health than those with money. Because the doctors raise their fees, the attorneys raise their fees. Because the attorneys’ fees have gone up, schoolteachers want a raise, which raises our taxes, and on and on and on. Soon there will be such a horrifying gap between the rich and the poor that chaos will break out and another great civilization will collapse. History proves that great civilizations collapse when the gap between the haves and have-nots is too great. Sadly, America is on that same course because we haven’t learned from history. We only memorize historical dates and names, not the lesson.”

“Aren’t prices supposed to go up?” I asked.

“In an educated society with a well-run government, prices should actually come down. Of course, that is often only true in theory. Prices go up because of greed and fear caused by ignorance. If schools taught people about money, there would be more money and lower prices. But schools focus only on teaching people to work for money, not how to harness money’s power.”

“But don’t we have business schools?” Mike asked. “And haven’t you encouraged me to go for my MBA?”

“Yes,” said rich dad. “But all too often business schools train employees to become sophisticated bean-counters. Heaven forbid a bean- counter takes over a business. All they do is look at the numbers, fire people, and kill the business. I know this because I hire bean-counters. All they think about is cutting costs and raising prices, which cause more problems. Bean-counting is important. I wish more people knew it, but it, too, is not the whole picture,” added rich dad angrily.

“So is there an answer?” asked Mike.

“Yes,” said rich dad. “Learn to use your emotions to think, not think with your emotions. When you boys mastered your emotions by agreeing to work for free, I knew there was hope. When you again resisted your emotions when I tempted you with more money, you were again learning to think in spite of being emotionally charged. That’s the first step.”

Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 16 -You Can Enjoy Good Health & Live Longer

“How PMA aids you. PMA will help you develop mental and physical health and a longer life. And NMA will just as surely undermine mental and physical health and shorten your life. It all depends upon which side of the talisman you turn up. Positive Mental Attitude properly employed has saved the lives of many persons because someone close to them had a strong Positive Mental Attitude. The following incident proves the point.”

This is the bottomline.  If you complain and emanate feelings of negativity, you will die early.  That’s the basis of everything.

Think about it.  Back in 2015, I was constantly berating myself with the “loser sob” stories that created my reality “at the time.”  I lived in a neighborhood where I got dirty looks….that’s my fault (100% accountability).  I was around the biggest losers in my life (teachers at my old job) and the things they said…were uninspiring, malicious and repugnant….I became the chatter.  All of these things, including death threats from Thai Airways’ workers, were coming in by herds.  I needed to breakaway from the ignorance.  I needed to finally cut off the dead weight of losers and free myself to learn and expand on the true meaning of life.

Best Quote Ever

“The price of ignorance is sin, sickness, and death! What do you know about Hygiene ? Hygiene is defined as “a system of principles or rules designed for the promotion of health.” Social Hygiene often refers specifically to venereal contagion. Ignorance of physical, mental, and social hygiene can lead to sin, sickness, and death.”

HMMMM! Just think about it.  Those people in those “whiney bitch party” groups at work, what ends up happening?

There’s a story.  Her name was Nancy.  Nancy was a worker at the Dental Faculty Practice at the College of Southern Nevada.  She was a very nasty human being.  She mistreated not only the patients, but all of the workers.  She was rude, snappy, and just about everything else in the book.

Not sure how long she was like this for, but it had to be for years.  A year after I left to come to Thailand, Nancy was killed in a car accident.  Four people in the car, and the other three were unscathed.  Nancy was the only one that perished.

Am I saying this is related to her sinning constantly by being unkind to everyone? Could be.  No one will ever know, but I don’t want to be that unfortunate mother/father, brother/sister that gets a phone call saying, “sorry, your _________ has passed away,” regretting everything she ever was.

Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 14 – Rest is VASTLY Important & Underrated

“Dr. Cureton taught Roger Bannister that “the more the body endures, the more it will endure.” Beliefs about “overtraining” and “staleness,” he says, are myths.
But he emphasizes that rest is as important as exercise and activity. The body needs to rebuild in even larger quantities what has been torn down in exercise. That’s how strength, vitality, energy are developed. The body and mind both recharge themselves during periods of rest and relaxation. If you don’t give them a chance to do so, severe damage—and even death—can result.

Is it time to recharge your battery? There’s no glory in being the richest man in the graveyard. You don’t want to be the best scientist, doctor, executive, salesman, or employee lying—prematurely—under the most ornate headstone. A loved mother, wife, father, son, or daughter can bring happiness. Why then, bring grief, instead? Why be confined to a mental sanitarium or lie embalmed six feet under a blanket of beautiful green grass—simply because a needless drain damaged a battery that wasn’t recharged?”

The myth of hustling can really kill some people.  Some people need just four hours, five hours, and six hours of sleep.  So, this brings me to my next statement: Gary Vee does an unbelievable job! For him to NEVER GET SICK and to only get four hours of sleep while having an insane amount of energy — is unbelievable.

I just don’t know how he does it…but let’s just call him immortal for a second.

Your body needs rest.  Your mind needs rest.  We can often get overwhelmed by social media and different things happening in our inner and outer circles.  Sometimes you HAVE to take some time off people, media, etc (as Jim Kwik has said) to recharge your mind.  Tim Ferriss has also left his phone inside his car an entire weekend. Hell, I remember going hiking in 2008 and I was away from all MEDIA for 2.5 days.  I thought I was going to die, and that was in 2008!  YouTube was at its infancy stage and FB was TERRIBLE.

Now, I can do it much easier.  When it comes to working out, there are times I go for a push.  this week, there is the 3 workout classes and an insane jog.  This is because I’m now two months away from a MASSIVE competition. However, because I’m doing this much damage to my body, I’ve decreased my overall workload (teaching) and I teach between 2-6 hours a day during the week (weekends being the busiest days).  I take naps in the afternoon and I’m getting more frequent massages.  Listen to your body!

“When your energy level is low, your health and your desirable characteristics may be subdued by the negative. You, like a storage battery, are dead when your energy level is zero. What is the solution? Recharge your battery. How? Relax, play, rest, and sleep!
How to tell when your battery needs recharging. Here is a checklist to help you determine your present energy level. You can use it whenever you feel that your energy level is slipping. If you are a well-balanced person, your battery may need recharging when you act and feel:
Unduly sleepy or tired
Tactless, unfriendly, suspicious
Querulous, insulting, hostile
Irritable, sarcastic, mean
Nervous, excitable, hysterical
Worrisome, fearful, jealous
Rash, ruthless, excessively selfish
Excessively emotional, depressed, or frustrated”

“PMA demands a good energy level—and vice versa! When you are fatigued, your usually positive, desirable feelings, emotions, thoughts, and actions have a tendency to turn negative. When you are rested and in good health, the direction is changed back to positive. Fatigue often brings out the worst within you. When your battery is charged and your energy and activity level is up to standard, you are at your best! That is when you think and act With PMA!
If your feelings and actions indicate that your better qualities are being subdued by those which are undesirable and negative, it’s time to recharge your battery!”

Blockchain in Bangkok: Neighborhood is Buying & Selling Energy

I normally give Thailand (primarily the women) a hard time in terms of treating individuals the same.  However, I love innovation.  As the mass transit system sets up across Bangkok, I’m like a child on Christmas, jumping around deliriously and anxiously waiting for the grand opening.

With the Sky Trains (grey, red, pink, brown, green line extensions, orange, yellow) going up around the city, there’s an even greater story: Thais buying and selling electricity using blockchain.

Source: World Economic Forum

So, the infographic might be hard to understand, but let’s just say the generating capacity of is enough to trade electricity between a mall, school, dental hospital, and apartment complex.

The managing director of the Australian firm, Power Ledger, said that enabling renewable energy trading will reduce our carbon footprint.

Just recently, Elon Musk heading to my native Puerto Rico and provided dozens of solar panels to a children’s hospital.  Furthermore, neighborhoods all across the globe are implementing solar panels in neighborhoods — encouraging everyone to switch to renewable energy.

This not only puts a spark into humanity, but for countries such as Thailand, which are notorious for pollution, there are people who are pushing to make the switch.

Most notably, the gym I go to, Lab BKK, is all renewable; from the lightbulbs, to taking out all plastic, to having all their products + humanity.

Times are getting interestingly exciting!

Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 12 – The “If” Creed

If……

“If you do your best to try never to violate your honor by lying or cheating and always try to fulfill the responsibility with which you are entrusted …

If you keep clean in thought and body—if you exemplify clean habits, clean speech, clean sport—if you associate with a clean crowd …

If you stand up for the rights of others against the undesirable influence and coaxing of friends and threats of enemies—if defeat inspires you to try to succeed—if you have the courage to face danger in spite of fear …

If you work faithfully and make the best of your opportunities—if you don’t wantonly destroy property—if you save money so that you can pay your own way in this world and yet be generous to those in need and give financial help and time to worthy causes—if you do a good turn each day without expecting compensation …

If you are a friend to all and a brother to every living man, woman, and child regardless of race, color, or creed …”

If you are prepared to learn to know dangers, to avoid negligence and to know the remedies necessary to help injured persons and save human lives, to share the duties and responsibilities in your home and place of business…

If you are polite to all, especially to the weak, helpless, and unfortunate …

If you will not kill or hurt any living creature needlessly, but strive to protect all living animals …

If you smile when you can, do your work promptly and cheerfully—and if you never shirk or grumble at responsibilities or hardships …

If you are loyal to all to whom loyalty is due, to the members of your family, the firm for which you work, and your country …”
