My Nightly Routine

Oh, this has been a LONG time coming, but I’ve finally figured out something whereas I can calm/quiet my mind down towards the end of the night.

I’m not a person who likes teaching past 6pm, but since I was offered a unique class and on the BTS line, I said “ok.” However, I needed to be serious about coming up with a very strict routine in terms of shutting down before going home.

Last year I encountered a couple of sleepless nights. One day I had too much caffeine, pushing myself to a 4am sleeping time (and that was at the assistance of a sleeping pill). Another night I slept 1pm because I didn’t have control of my mind and was thinking about the most absurd thing imaginable (I won’t even say it because it’s that ridiculous). So, I do get anxious, at times, before I go to sleep.

But thanks to Dr. Joe Dispenza’s words, I’ve been able to overcome that: “train your mind and tell it what you want to do.”

So, I told myself “how can I shutdown before getting home?” This was a three-step routine.

So, while walking to the skytrain, which takes about 7 minutes to get to, I’m listening to affirmations. Mind you, social media and everything is turned off for the evening. At 8pm, I’m off of it. I love detoxing from it because sometimes I get messages that I can’t handle at night, and if it’s a message of someone complaining, I would lose sleep.

When I get to my platform which is outside in the sweltering heat, I’m swaying side-by-side, not looking at a soul and just basking the environment all in. Perfect way to live in the moment when there’s chaos around you.

The train comes, I go to the middle (because it’s often packed) set my things down and really start saying all the affirmations under-my-breath for about 5 stations. Once the train makes it over the river, I switch to a Glen Harold meditation and then I start winding down even more, along with some running bath water and rain noises in the background.

By the time I get home, my mind is ready for sleep…literally. Technology has already been shoved aside, and I even put my phone outside my bedroom to charge. I turn on my Bose soundlink, laydown, and smile away, counting the successes that I had achieved that day. Yes, somedays I do the mirror exercise, which helps a lot, too.

So, here’s the podcast of how I do everything little-by-little.

How To Use Affirmations

Tony Robbins said the late Jim Rohn told him, “you have very poor psychology.  Makes some statements about the life you want to live.  Restate it over and over and over again.”

There was a homeless man asking Tony for some change one evening and all he asked for was 25 cents.  Tony then pulled out a wad of cash with a lot of 100$ bills on top of it….the man looked at the money, the quarter, and then Tony.  He took the quarter and told Tony, “you’re weird!”

You get in life what you ask for.  Sure, entrepreneurs will talk about “hustle, hustle, hustle….affirmations and meditations mean nothing,” but I can go so far to tell you that many of the entrepreneurs out there lack empathy and have rotten personalities.  They’re in fight-or-flight mode 24/7 and they always think the “worse case” scenarios.  Everyone has bluerprints; whether they’re social, geographical, financial, etc.  To get over that negative conditioning, I don’t care how much you hustle, you’re going to have to reprogram your mind.

How to use your affirmations.

  1. Repeat your affirmations at least three times a day.  The best times are the first thing in the morning, the middle of the day, and around bedtime.
  2. Work in depth with a few affirmations.  This is much more effective than working less frequently with a greater number of them.
  3. Say your affirmations out loud, if possible.  If not, read them silently to yourself.
  4. Close your eyes and visualize yourself as the affirmation describes.  See the scene through your eyes, as if it were happening around you, just the way you would be seeing it in real life.
  5. Hear the sounds; see the images that would be present when you successfully achieve what your affirmation describes.  Include any other people who would be there, and hear their words of encouragement and congratulations.
  6. Feel the emotions that you would experience when you achieve this goal.  The stronger your feelings are, the more powerful the impact.

My most powerful affirmation…..

I’m more handsome than ever!

The drop back of this story has to be the fact that I would constantly say, “Thai women hate black men!” So what ended up happening? I attracted to me the most disgusting specimen imaginable three years ago.  So, how could I reverse the negative self-talk? By using reaffirming positive self-talk.

Pick a solid three affirmations.  I’m talking about affirmations that negative the most common negative self-talk phrases you spew everyday.  Example, I asked my students what happened during there tenure while learning English and they constantly said, “I’m stupid” — although they go to the best university in Thailand? That’s absurd. It’s ridiculous.  You can’t be STUPID in learning a language, so instead say “I’m brilliant with learning English as I learn 30 minutes in both the morning and evening.”

I’m fat, I’m stupid, I’m black, I’m not handsome enough, I’m not beautiful enough, I’m not tall enough, I’m not smart enough, I’m not experienced enough.  Enough with the bullshit opinions of others.  Reprogram your mind NOW!

How To Make Affirmations

New Morning Routine!

This has been a long time coming, but this absolutely super-charges my morning like no other morning has before!

It all starts with the evening though.  If I don’t have a successful evening and sleep after 9:30pm, it’ll throw a curveball at my mornings and I’ll have to take out one of the above, which could be detrimental.

Anywho, let’s get into these pictures.

MindValley Podcast

So, I’ve been a loyal follower of MindValley for the longest and absolutely love Vishen as a speaker.  He speaks so much truth and has written excellent books – all while creating a 300 person company that creates courses for people worldwide.  This is an amazing humanity + company; and in addition, they have a podcast!  The podcasts features some of the best speakers around the world and my absolute favorite, without any doubt, is Lisa Nichols.  The Lisa Nichols podcast on MindValley’s podcast is the one where she’s in Cancun giving a guided meditation.  This is the first thing I listen to upon waking up because I’m still in the “dream consciousness.”  If I can have incredible feelings, especially of Joy in that state, I set my soul on fire!.

Glenn Harold

Immediately following that, I love doing my guided meditation.  At this time, I’m hoping that I’m pretty much wide awake so I don’t fall back to sleep.  If I am, I can focus much more on the affirmations and guidance.  My favorite one for the mornings is the “Procrastination” one, because after the program is finished, I’m so focused with my morning tasks.  The ones I use to go to sleep are often Solfeggio, which is an ancient, 6-tone scale used in the recordings.

After that, I officially wake-up with my energy higher than ever because I’m focused on pure gratitude.  I then go to YouTube and put on a specific video whereas a man is stating affirmations over a 15-minute video.  I put this on my bose speaker and go into the kitchen to take some immune support, joint-support, and Thermobond (Herbalife) tablets.

I take a pre-workout (depends if I’m working out) and hop into the shower, giving grace to everything in my life.  This lasts from about 5:15am – 6am.  After that, I can tackle the world.

Ramble of Positivity: Episode 19 – The Emergence of ??????

Man, oh man! It’s been a long time since I’ve done a ramble of positivity, and I’m super grateful to be back! Two weeks into the New Years….it’s definitely at a surplus in terms of projects, teaching and learning.  However, there is a little bit of an issue.

Now, I told myself I needed to live in these day-tight compartments because I have no idea what’s going on in the future.  Honestly, within the next three months, there’s a massive chance that I might experience a major transition (leaving from Thailand).

At the beginning of the New Year, I thought I was destined to land a job with a 65-year-old language school in Bangkok.  The interview process was superb and everything went well.  However, after a follow-up email and a week later, I got scared.  I felt that something was happening, but wasn’t sure what.  That feeling lead to me not getting the job for VERY OBVIOUS THAI REASONS and then there was the question: “should I keep doing this?”

I’ve preached so much about going after your purpose.  I’m getting ideas now about developing a curriculum online that students can easily access and learn English all over the world – a system that can trump language centers in a heartbeat.  This is going to take some massive pondering and setting up, but I’m pretty excited about it.

There comes a time in life, however, when you just get sick and tired of nonsense.  I’ve dealt with racial degradation for five years already.  In the beginning, it was new.  I needed to go through the amount of hell for me to become the influential person I am today.  On the other hand, the things that I continue going through today is just — boring.  I already got the point.  Yes, I’m a brown guy living in one of the most anti-brown guy countries on the face of planet Earth….which brings me to the questions….

Am I still learning?

  • Hell no.

Am I still growing?

  • In terms of my podcast, YouTube, Herbalife, speaking, etc….absolutely.  As a teacher in my primary job – absolutely not.

Are there still opportunities?

  • The only way I stay in Thailand is if I work at a multi-national country and make over 100,000 baht (3,300 USD). Other than that, side-projects are great, but they don’t provide anymore than just that – a side project.

Do I still want to live here?

  • Well, lets just say in a perfect world everything goes well and I can work in Bangkok….my max is one year — this year.  After that, I’m finished.  Unless something miraculous happens, I’m over Asia.

Is this a place to live for the next ten years?

  • I don’t know what opportunity Thailand provides anymore because of the amount of obstacles I have to go through.  The proving grounds and continuous (can you send us a video of how you teach) versus other teachers getting the job because of the color of their skin — it’s just pointless.  I don’t have to prove myself anymore.  With Facebook pages in the education and podcast sector totalling over 10,000 likes and constant content creation: “you said I needed to make a video because?”

What’s the end goal?

  • True happiness.  True fulfillment.  That’s why I do my ‘wheels of life’ on a monthly basis.  However, if there’s one area that’s causing 80% of my unhappiness, it’s the constant “needing a job” and trying to figure out the process.  My end goal is to obvious have my website up and running, posting videos on Facebook regularly, creating blogs, putting out content, doing things with other students and creating videos on a multitude of platforms.  On top of that, I still absolutely love teaching, but other than the money, what’s the point of staying here anymore?  I need to be smart about the process and see what situation I’ll possibly be heading into.  If I can make residual income on a monthly basis, Thailand would be finished.  Let’s just put it that way.

I’m so happy and grateful for being able to teach wonderful students a language and an idea with that language over the last three days.

I’m truly grateful for the present I got from a Deputy Prime Minister last night – and also knowledge along with that.

With all my heart, Im thankful for all areas of my life.  I’m extremely thankful for the wonderful people I’ve met the past few days and the dozens of new friends I’ve made.  I’m grateful for the posters on my FB pages who want more.  I’m thankful for my friends who tune into my blog, along with other bloggers; and I’m also super happy about my podcast and everyone viewing my videos on YouTube.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Now, I just added in the emergence….and you will be amazed who this person is.  17 years…..and he decided to add me on FB.  Oh, what a story this is going to be!  Only in the podcast!

Napoleon Hill: Cooperation – The Necessary Instructions For Action

Gary Vee kind of s***s on the secret, saying that “if you think you’re just going to visualize sitting in a yacht, thing again!”  He was talking on The Breakfast Club, a controversial show, and shortly after one of the speakers said, “hey, I actually believe that – but you have to follow it with action.”

See you have physical action and mental action.  You can be very active with your mind while your body is inactive.  If you believe that visualizing a billion dollars in your lap will make you obtain a billion dollars without inspired action or a burning desire, think again.

There are some men of action.  One his a dynamo and one is a balanced wheel.

The man who is a “balanced-wheel” who does nothing but compile facts, figures and statistics is just as much as a man of action as the man who goes upon the platform and sells an idea to a thousand people by the sheer power of his active personality.

A good reference is when a man, who has hated me, called for a meeting and almost my ahead.  He sat there showing statistics that were completely covering up the internal problem of the company.  He said, “your renewals are going down.”  I can sit here and justify why my renewals are going down, but the fact and matter is that one of the “top” academic teachers in the company had a 30% lower mark in renewals than me – yet I was being scrutinized heavily for students “not renewing.”

“The world pays you for what you do and not for what you know.”

This statement could be a bit misconstrued.  What the world really pays you for is what you do and what you can make others do.

A man who can make others co-operate and do effective team-work, or inspire others so that the become more active, is no less a man of action than the man who renders effective service in a more direct manner. – Napoleon Hill

The main purpose of this book and what I’m trying to convey is to help you analyze yourself and determine what your native ability.  Figuring out your definite chief-aim is the first part.

Let’s now talk about how action can be developed.

First: Form the habit of doing each day the most distasteful tasks first.  This procedure will be difficult at first, but after you have formed the habit you will take pride in pitching into the hardest and most undesirable part of your work first.

THE MUNDANE TASKS! Remember I’ve been saying this for almost two years.  Completing the most mundane tasks first and free-ing up those attention units are pivotal.  Some people like to brush it aside, but get it done, and out of the way first.

Example, if I have to write monotonously boring reports for students, bet your a$$ I’m going to do it almost immediately.  The philosophy in terms of putting something on paper for a student rather than explaining it to them face-to-face is quite unsettling.

If someone tells me to do something that I don’t want to do…but that I have to do, I’m going to hurry up and do it.

Another example is preparing for a big project.  If my colleagues say: “could you please send this, come in and talk to us about this…blah blah blah” – I’m going to do that immediately.

Second: Place this sign in front of you where you can see it in your daily work, and put a copy in your bedroom, where it will greet you as you retire and when you arise: “Do not tell them what you can do; show them!”

Third: Repeat the following words, aloud, twelve times each night just before you go to sleep: “Tomorrow I will do everything that should be done, when it should be done, and as it should be done.  I will perform the most difficult tasks first because this will destroy the habit of procrastination and develop the habit of action in its place.”

Fourth: Carry Out These Instructions with faith in their soundness and with belief that they will develop action, in body and in mind, sufficient to enable you to realize your definite chief-aim.

Teemaree Podcast Interview From A Couple of Months Ago – Still My Favorite

Still one of my favorite podcast interviews I’ve done.  Since I’ve hit the milestone of podcasts interviews (the Big 5), I’m now reposting this one (not sure if I even did a blog on it), which was an unbelievable pleasure.

Teemaree, being an author and now taking her acting very seriously, was just a human being emanating with so much love and wisdom.  Her book titled love for you now is on amazon and talks about affirmations.  Affirmations that we sometimes don’t know we have, but we do.

Remember, affirmations can be good or bad, and we normally re-affirm to ourselves negative self-talk over and over everyday and we don’t even realize it.

One of those re-affirming affirmations for me was, “Thai women hate black men and Thai women are racist.”  For the first two years, and even seeping into 2016, I destroyed my image completely.  However, before I came here, I met a dozen friends online (here in Thailand) and befriended some pretty awesome people in the first few months.  After the events had taken place the way they did in southeast Thailand, I decided to go to an even more racially plagued province (not knowing it was), and the idea of being “black” in the most “anti-black” country on the planet succumbed me for the next two years.

Now? Was that all true? Absolutely not…but because of the amount of passion I put being those negative affirmations, it become true.  Here’s the interview with Teemaree!

Summary of Principles Involved In Accurate Thinking

So, to break down this entire chapter of accurate thinking, we now know that the body is not singular, but plural – that it consists of billions on top of billions of living, intelligent, individual cells.  With organised work, they’re able to maintain this spectacular being called the human body.

These cells have their respective outings such as the actions of the subconscious mind or automatic action of the mind; and the subconscious section of the mind controlled and directed by the conscious.

In other words, the habits, actions, and involuntary affirmations done over time becomes imbedded into our subconscious.

The Value of Adopting A Chief-Aim

These lessons and podcasts on Accurate Thought not only describes the real purpose of a definite chief aim, but it explains in simple terms the principles on how it could be realized. Create that objectives first…the one which you’re striving for.  Outline, in great detail, all the objectives on a piece of paper and create a definite statement of it in the nature of a definite chief aim. By referencing it everyday, you will hand it over to the subconscious mind – which will ultimately transform the desire into material form. Podcasts down below in following your definite chief-aim.

Instructions For Applying Your Definite Chief-Aim

Desire

You need to build upon a deeply seat, strong desire for the object of your chief-aim.  Do not “wish,” because “wish” is a future conditional indicating that it’s in the future and you’ll never possess it.  Having a strong desire of achievement is far more powerful because you’re devoting all your energy into the universe into the attainment of that objective.

Suggestion & Auto-Suggestion

The impressions that are in one’s environment dictates what the paradigm/subconscious is.  It could be statements, facts, T.V., parents, news, friends…..suggestions are given continuously all day, every day.  These influences have control over us.  It’s entirely up to YOU to control what suggestions/auto-suggestions you want to accept.  Be very wary of who you’re around and especially the environment you’re in because it cultivates that mental faculty, regardless if you like it or not.

The Truth About Affirmations

One of my students said earlier, “why do you always say you’re handsome? That you eat alone? That you love yourself?”

I retorted in the grandest of fashions – stating the hate opinions I’ve received that formulated a pseudo reality that I wasn’t able to escape from for several years.

The pain, which I’ve talked about so many times, was unbearable.  The opinions of Thai people; yes, that “land of smiles” turned “land of hate”……turned into my dominant thought.  Therefore, everyday I went on that pity party; I pointed fingers at everyone saying, “you must hate black men.”  Everyone who gave me an ambiguous look was portrayed as a racist through my eyes.

It wasn’t until I started reading Lisa Nichols ‘Abundance Now’ book…only to realize that those particularly demonic opinions of me became my blueprint.  Every time I had an opportunity, I would go on that “ain’t it awful” whiney b**** party and talk about how bad Thai people were.  What happened after that? I attracted to me some of the worst snakes in all of the free world (the wife and girlfriend tourists) that tried doing everything to ruin my life.

So, I decided to change that destructive habit.  That reaffirming negative thought that I spewed like toxic everyday – even subconsciously.  I needed to reinstill the belief in myself that ‘yes,’ I am a wonderfully handsome man that was put on this planet to bring so much more value and true worth to people across the planes of six continents.  And so it began.  I constantly berate my front office staff everyday about me being handsome….and remember, they might think about it in a conceit way, but it doesn’t matter what they think or say about me.  I was in a battle of my life just 2 years ago.  I had women from Thai Airways threaten to “blacklist” me and also told me that she would “stick the dogs on me” for whatever reason.  This is what happens when you reaffirm negative thoughts continuously over a long period of time.  You attract heinous people into your life with an insidiously malicious agenda.

I’m pledging to you now to change your language.  Tell the world who you REALLY are, not the opinions you’ve accepted from other people-turned vision you see through your own eyes.

Change it, or you’ll be changed.

Podcast Interviewee: Teemarie On Affirmations & Visualization

Now this was ABSOLUTELY one of my favorite podcast interviews I’ve done to this date.  After a ridiculous miscommunication on my end, we were able to start the podcast just after 8pm, and boy, did we deliver!

This woman, who’s an actor/writer/among so many other things, has an unfathomable amount of charisma, which I felt through my headphones.  The way she spoke and with the unbelievable amount of passion behind her words made this one of the most enjoyable and pleasurable one-hour podcasts I’ve done in my 1.5 years of doing this.

Affirmations

After speaking to her about writing down my 101 goals back in 2015, I went back to check out the goals (haven’t checked it since earlier in the year) and noticed that I achieved five more goals that I had written down two years ago.  How remarkable!

See, people don’t realize that the universe is for you. A lot of people believe that you have to “hustle” and work extremely hard to achieve anything….once you start figuring out energy fields, such as what Napoleon Hill wrote in the introduction of his book “Law of Success,” you’ll realize that we’re all balls of energy and you attract to you what you’re vibrating.

People re-affirm to themselves a lot of different thoughts everyday and they don’t even realize it.  We say affirmations frankly all day, but most of them are bad.  How can you switch it all around? Tune into the 50 minute interview down below!

Napoleon Hill – The Power of Habit

Just four months ago, I had destructive habits in the morning.  I would literally get on social networking sites engaging in useless conversations that ended in a racial rant (towards me).  This would be from 6am-8am in the morning, completely throwing off my day before it even began – squandering out of bed with a frown on my face before putting my victim shirt on again.

Then, one day I was watching Tony Robbins ‘I’m not your guru’ and I saw that he would sit in front of the sea of his beachside resort in Florida while listening to a guided meditation.  He would do breathing exercises and also would jump in extremely hot water (manhole at his home) before jumping in the frigid cold (another manhole right beside it).

This is called habit.  When he does this, it shocks the body and stimulates the immune system immediately.  This man would have a ton of energy throughout the day and that’s without taking supplements.

See, I had a lack of understanding of applying this particular principle we call ‘habit.’ Habit ultimately grows out of environment; out of doing the same thing, thinking the same thing, and saying the same words repeatedly.

Just like affirmations, habit is created by literally reciting a statement to yourself or any desire.  This will eventually seek expression through physical, outward bodily efforts.

Henry Ford is the prime example of how it’s done.  Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, was just a labourer in a machine shop with little to no schooling and without capital.  He use to work around people who he deemed smarter and more fit than him until he threw off the poverty consciousness and developed confidence within himself.  He’s still amassing millions of dollars each year because he believed he can transform that belief….the belief of confidence…into a definite purpose and backed that purpose with a plan.

Oh, and guess what – the other machinists? All they did was vision nothing but a weekly pay envelop that never got him anywhere.  They demanded nothing out of the ordinary of themselves.

If you want to get more, demand more of yourself.  Notice that this demand is to be made on yourself!

I’ll leave you with a poem written in Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success.

If you think you are beats, you are;

If you think you dare not, you don’t;

If you like to win, but you think you can’t,

It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose you’ve lost,

For out of the world we find

Success begins with a fellow’s will –

Its all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclasses, you are –

You’ve got to think high to rise.

You’ve got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go

To the strong or faster man;

But soon or later the man who wins

Is the man who thinks he can.
