Special Blog: Arsenio’s Entrepreneurial Journey from 2016-Now

Ok, you guys wanted it, and here it is.

At the beginning of 2016, I started a podcast.  Keep in mind that my followers on Twitter were LOSER sex tourists and my online persona, up to that point, was not very good.  I constantly focused on the negative and the victimization of being a “black” teacher in Thailand.

Then came the man — also known as Napoleon Hill.  Who’s Napoleon Hill? Well, you’ll have to google him, but this man ended up teaching me everything that I either had lost, or was completely unaware of.  Those books became my podcasts in the beginning and that ended up pushing away the majority of those “losers” who followed me online.

Then came the Jack Canfield book, most notably — Principle #5: Believe In Yourself.  While reading this just before my trip to Vietnam, I was reduced to tears.  At that moment, there was a shift in my entire biochemistry, indicating that this victimhood no longer serves you.  Getting rid of it didn’t happen overnight, but this was the beginning.

Lisa Nichols’ Abundance now came next, along with a few others, including Tim Ferriss’ 4-Hour Work Week and a couple of others.  This was the beginning of the new me.

In 2017, I began to rebel.  Hell, it started a couple months before.  My work, which wasn’t suitable for me anymore, wasn’t fair in terms of work allocation.  Some teachers got more work based on pre-conceived notions that they were better than other teachers.  So, I told myself, even in early 2016, that I would start working outside to gain more notoriety and build a brand that I didn’t know I was building at the time.  One after another, projects after projects, and “NO! I DON’T WANT YOUR CLASS IN THE MORNING!” — after another.  This probably was my downfall at the company because I constantly denied work from them, leading to my ultimate plunge and being the “last in line” and the “dark little brother,” however, this was the beginning of my new life.

In October of 2017, I got removed from teaching at Toshiba in Pathumthani, citing me for the most outrageous comments imaginable that were completely untrue and irrelevant to my moving.  Somebody had a bone to pick, and with two other white teachers, one having an insane amount of complaints, I was the odd one out (in a very unprofessional way).  That following weekend, it was the comment “if you want to continue working here we need to have a meeting” that sent shivers of disgust, threats, and “Arsenio, it’s time to get the hell out of here” down my back.  That moment, I made up in my mind that I was too good for these folks.

No one knew, but after learning that I had moved to the other side of town, they knew what was happening.  I cancelled, didn’t want class, and want to be away from that place as much as possible because it gave me chest pains — literally.

At the same time, I was grinding and trying to find work.  There were people saying “oh, this company decided this teacher over you because you’re white” and other deplorable comments. I knew I would scrape the bottom-of-the-barrel in regards to finding suitable language centers, but i kept at it.

Then March came.  Job offers came over the next two months along with entrepreneurs, a content writer, and hundreds of other things.

At the beginning of the year, I made goals list.  I made goals list for each category of my wheel of life, pin-pointing things that I wanted to do and how I wanted to grow.  To this date, I’ve not only achieved those marks, but I think in some categories, like the social circle and personal development, I’m two years ahead.

I have a content writer, social circle consisting of graphic designers, mentors, marketing execs and coaches, double podcasts website that’s sky-rocketing, YouTube that’s climbing, messages and comments saying thank you.

In all of that, do you think this could’ve happened if I didn’t leave that old place of work? No way.  I needed to leave there to create flow of goodness and change in my life.

See, the majority of the time, you guys get stuffed up in the now and personal wants.  You’re control by the mainstream media, dying relationships, loser friends, terrible jobs.  However, if you can just come to the awareness that if you let these things go, you will attract to you everything in life that you need to take you to the next level.

That’s a promise.

Upon the magnificent New Years, I’m literally positioning myself as the top ESL podcaster on the planet.  I’m owning hashtags on Instagram.  I’m teaching people all over the world and people want my services.  See how that works? And this all came because I dumped an employer in F.E.A.R of not getting a new job.

Face FEAR.

Questions & Answers: How to Jab & When to Right Hook

So, this is a special request from one of my friends who’s originally from Hanoi but living in Bangkok, Thailand.

What I love about this request was she asked me about the rest of the video.  No one has asked me about the rest of my 1-minute fire video before, so I told her that I would make a podcast specially catered to her and everyone else.

Gary Vee’s Philosophy: Jab, jab, jab, right hook.

This equates to give, give, give, ask.  Gary Vee puts an insane amount of content out there and asks people to share it from time-to-time.  No one else really does that because after sales and promising a marketed Instagram video, they tell you to “click the link” for free resources and it always comes down to paying.

This is called right hook/upper-cut.

You can’t ask for rewards after not doing a god damn thing because that will breed entitlement.  You’re not doing it out of the good nature of your soul, instead you’re doing it for financial gain.  You will absolutely lose if that happens.

How do I do it?

Ok, you guys are probably wondering how a man that has so many blogs, podcasts, etc on his website make money from it? I don’t.  Right now is the relationships building stage.  These are the jabs galore. I want to show everyone, from top to bottom, who I am.  This is especially crucial because if no one knows you and you post an ad on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook asking them to BUY YOUR COURSE, that’s a ridiculous haymaker to throw at people don’t know you.  These people end up losing respect and posting ugly comments about your product because of it.  Remember, human beings are sensitive.

From my YouTube videos, to making my podcast, Facebook page, etc.  Nothing in terms of money has been made yet. That’s not my why.  My WHY is to make English LEARNING.  Period…don’t study it, learn it.  Live in it.  Watch my videos.  Laugh a little and tell your friends about the things I said to inspire them to learn it. I will become the coolest teacher on my planet.  Now, when the time comes, I will start putting webinars, newsletters, and create ebooks for courses, but all of that will come in the next year.  My main focus is attention.  Like Gary Vee said, “I’m day-trading attention.”

That Jack Canfield Story

Jack Canfield wrote about a guy named Tom.  Tom worked for a multinational company and was always sent on business trips in first class.  Being able to sit in the comfortable compartments away from everyone was the best for him — until he found out how much it costed.  He realized that he can bring his kids along, donate to charities and use that money in a more useful way.  Not only that, he realized that people in economy class were even more interesting than the first-class passengers.  He right hooked and hit a pot of gold when he found out he was doing more taking than giving, sitting in first-class.

Napoleon Hill’s Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 1 – How to Motivate Yourself (1/2)

Here is the beginning of season 2!  This book, which I’ve covered quite a bit already, is next on the list for those of you who are looking to bring out something within you that’s lying dormant.

“What is motivation?
Motivation is that which induces action or determines choice. It is that which provides a motive. A motive is the “inner urge” only within the individual which incites him to action, such as an instinct, passion, emotion, habit, mood, impulse, desire, or idea.
It is the hope or other force which starts an action in an attempt to produce specific results.
Motivating yourself and others. When you know principles that can motivate you, you will then know principles that can motivate others. Conversely, when you know principles that can motivate others, you will then know principles that can motivate you.”

Excerpt From: Napoleon Hill. “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” iBooks. https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/success-through-a-positive-mental-attitude/id381618319?mt=11

There’s a lot of negative chatter of what motivation is.  Mel Robbins says “motivation is garbage,” Gary Vee says “motivation doesn’t do s***.”  However, don’t give a damn what other people think about motivation….what you think means everything.

Without motivation, there’s no electricity.  There are no A380’s.  Everything you see around you is because someone had the motivation and determination to solve a problem in the world.  Without it and we’re stuck in that 1800’s mentality.

Motivation is hope.  And when there’s hope, there’s will.  When there’s will…there’s always a way.

Motivation comes from failure.  My greatest failure was, and continues to be my best driver in my life.  To this day, I’m still busting my ass in the gym because of the catastrophic failure I suffered years ago on the Track.

“The ten basic motives which inspire all human action. Every thought you think, every act in which you voluntarily engage, can be traced back to some definite motive or combination of motives. There are ten basic motives which inspire all thoughts, all voluntary actions. No one ever does anything without having been motivated to do it.
When it comes to learning how to motivate yourself for any given purpose, or how to motivate others, you should have a clear understanding of these ten basic motives. Here they are:
1. The desire for SELF-PRESERVATION

2. The emotion of LOVE

3. The emotion of FEAR

4. The emotion of SEX

5. The desire for LIFE AFTER DEATH

6. The desire for FREEDOM OF BODY AND MIND

7. The emotion of ANGER

8. The emotion of HATE

10. The desire for MATERIAL GAIN

Napoleon Hill: The Secret To Getting Things Done

“If you do the things you don’t want to do, or if you don’t do the things that you do want to do, then this chapter is for you.” – Napoleon Hill

“How do you make the secret of getting things done a part of your life? By habit. And you develop habit through repetition. “Sow an action and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny,” said the great psychologist and philosopher William James. He was saying that you are what your habits make you. And you can choose your habits. You can develop any habit you wish when you use the self-starter.
Now what is the secret of getting things done and what is the self-starter that forces you to use this great secret?
The secret of getting things done is to act. The self-starter is the self-motivator DO IT NOW!
As long as you live, never say to yourself, “DO IT NOW!” unless you follow through with desirable action. Whenever action is desirable and the symbol DO IT NOW! flashes from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind, immediately act.

Make it a practice to respond to the self-starter DO IT NOW! in little things. You will quickly develop the habit of a reflex response so powerful that in times of emergency or when opportunity presents itself, you will act.
Say you have a phone call that you should make but you have a tendency to procrastinate. And you have put off making that phone call. When the self-starter DO IT NOW! flashes from your subconscious to your conscious mind: Act. Make that phone call immediately.

Excerpt From: Napoleon Hill. “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” iBooks.

The self-starter could be something difficult to do, but I’m developing (currently) a habit to get out of bed within 15 seconds of waking up.  What happens during this moment? Well, I know that if I lay there any longer, I’m going to lose valuable “down” time which I could be using on packing a bag, shower, posting something, or even creating a blog or podcast before 6am.

The Secret to Getting Things Done simply revolves around how another person would benefit if you get it done.  If your mother was in need of an ambulance call, you would make no hesitation to find that phone as quickly as possible.  I use that example because people need to develop that burning desire to get things done, hastily.

“Many persons have the habit of procrastination. Because of it, they may miss a train, be late for work, or even more important—miss an opportunity that could change the whole course of their lives for the better. History has recorded how battles have been lost because someone put off taking desirable action.” – Napoleon Hill

The letter

“Write yourself a letter. Here is an idea to help you get started. Sit down and write yourself a letter, telling the things you always intended to do as though they had already been accomplished—some personal, some charitable, and others community projects. Write the letter as if a biographer were writing about the wonderful person you really are when you come under the influence of PMA. But don’t stop there. Use the secret of getting things done. Respond to the self-starter DO IT NOW!”

Excerpt From: Napoleon Hill. “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” iBooks. https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/success-through-a-positive-mental-attitude/id381618319?mt=11

Napoleon Hill: Learn To See

“When there is something you don’t understand, ask yourself: “Why?” Look at it more closely. You may make a great discovery.

Ask yourself questions. Asking yourself or others questions about things that puzzle you may reward you richly. This very procedure led to one of the world’s greatest scientific discoveries.

A young Englishman, while vacationing on his grand-mother’s farm, was relaxing. He was lying on his back under an apple tree and engaging in thinking time. An apple fell to the ground. This young man was a student of higher mathematics.
“Why does the apple fall to the ground?” he asked himself. “Does the earth attract the apple? Does the apple attract the earth? Does each attract the other? What is the universal principle involved?”

Isaac Newton used his power to think and he made a discovery. To see mentally is to think. He found the answers he was looking for; the earth and the apple attracted each other, and the law of attraction of mass to mass applies to the entire universe.”

Excerpt From: Napoleon Hill. “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” iBooks.

I’ve told you before, if you start asking the right questions, the right answers will come.  For instance, I evaluated my being while taking a taxi today.  The taxi driver was mad, angry, abrupt, and rude.  Did that have anything to do with me? Nope. It had everything to do with him.  I asked myself, “is he mad at me? Of course not.  He’s mad at other forces I’m completely unaware of.”  When I asked that question, everything seemed to disperse.

Pilot No. 7

1. Learn to see! Seeing is a learned process. Nine-tenths of seeing takes place in the brain.

2. Four fingers instead of five: this was the symbol whereby George Campbell, the blind boy, could catch and hold a full and happy life. How can you use this symbol?

3. Seeing is learned through association. George Camp-bell’s first sight of his mother became meaningful to him only when he recognized her voice.

4. Is it time to have your mental vision checked? When it is distorted, you can grope around in a haze of false concepts, bumping and hurting yourself and others unnecessarily. Does your mental vision become clearer year by year?

5. Take a look—a good look—and recognize what you see. There may be Acres of Diamonds in your own backyard!”

6. Don’t be nearsighted—look to the future. Cypress Gardens became a reality because Richard Pope saw it as a definite future objective.

7. See another person’s abilities, capacities, and viewpoint. You may be overlooking a genius. The story of Thomas Edison is a good example.
8. Do you see how you can relate and assimilate the principles of Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude into your own life?

9. Learn from nature. How? Ask yourself some questions, as Isaac Newton did. If you don’t know the answers, get expert advice.

10. Convert what you see into reality by action. Mikimoto converted a theory into a fortune in pearls. Goldstone recognized, related, and applied the principles and methods used in hospitals to save human lives as being applicable to saving the lives of oysters in producing cultured pearls.”

Excerpt From: Napoleon Hill. “Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude.” iBooks.

Napoleon Hill: Positive Mental Attitude – Part I Review

Welcome to a nice rundown of Part 1 of Napoleon Hill’s Positive Mental Attitude book.  Because I haven’t done these podcasts in ages, here’s a breakdown of the chapter and show notes of what I’ve talked about.

Thoughts to steer by

  1. Meet the most important living person! That person is YOU! Your success, health, happiness, wealth depend on how you use your invisible talisman.
  2. Your mind is your talisman.  PMA or NMA. PMA Is the right mental attitude for each specific occasion.  It has the power to attract the good and the beautiful.  NMA repels them.
  3. Every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit for those who have PMA.  Sometimes the things that seem to be adversities turn out to be opportunities in disguise.

Success Principles

Definite chief-aim

Going the extra mile

Accurate thinking

The master mind

A pleasing personality

Personal initiative

Controlled attention

Learning from defeat

Creative vision

Budgeting time and money

Maintaining sound physical and mental health

Things being discussed:

  • Road to achievement has got 2 sides – PMA or NMA
  • NMA only attracts negative minded people.
  • PMA only attracts positive minded people – how do you develop PMA?
  • Discover yourself in your darkest moment.
  • Success, wealth and happiness based on your choice – PMA is a mental attitude.
  • Stop blaming people and stop labelling things.
  • The goodness of an adversity.
  • Success is all about achievement.
  • Re-programme your mind.
  • Master the PMA as an attitude.
  • Achieve your high goals.
  • Clear your cobwebs.
  • Re-condition your mind.
  • The power of the subconscious mind.
  • Self – talk filled with affirmations.
  • Choices of being PMA or NMA is up to you.
