As I’ve told you guys before, I’m going to go over every individual category in the Wheel of Life over the course of this month until Christmas. Today, I’m beginning with Romantic Relationships because it’s the easiest category. 

I must say that I made a number of mistakes at the beginning of the year. To kick off the New Year, there was already an argument and someone saying “I need space.” Later on that week, and when the pollution had gotten increasingly worse, we were supposed to meet up a shopping plaza, but because she doesn’t have good awareness, it took more than a half-hour to meet, ending in an argument, me paying for my bill, and storming off. She sent me a message later on that night saying, “I don’t think it’s going to work,” and that was the end. 

It was laughable, but her wish was granted until I let her back in my second time around. Huge mistake. Sure, at the beginning (and before my trip to Malaysia), we had dinner, said our goodbyes and I told her that I would go to Vietnam to visit her. Within a week she said, “I don’t want a low-quality relationship,” ending it for the second time. 

It was frustrating, but I said “good, goodbye.” She came back around three months later and I laughed hysterically. I said, “what do you want?” She thought she could literally just “sorry” her way back in for the third time? My dumbass, let her. Lol. This time I visited Vietnam and got a great insight into what could potentially come for my career. In about a month after that, she was gone again. The best part was I turned to a 1995 film by the name of “Money Train” and used a slogan right out of the money to frankly tell her to “fuck off.” Omg, great times. 

What did I learn? The first time is enough. The second time you’re dumb. The third time you’re desperate. You lose. 

Did I get better? I think I did….through personal development, but because relationships are so topsy-turvy, there’s not much else I can do but grow as an individual.

Wheel of Life: May 2019 Edition – Weathering the STORM

Perhaps the storm of the century? After being stopped, for whatever reason it may have been (of course — it’s Thailand) at immigration, it threw my life into a whirlwind. I was scrambling to set up what should’ve been done last year. If it had fallen through, my time in Thailand would’ve been up. With determination and the willingness to get things done, I’m on the verge of finally solidifying myself on a visa needed to stay in the country and now I’m onto the next juncture in my life.

Nonetheless, this was the most emotionally exhausting few weeks since living here in Thailand (and certainly since 2014-2015). Take some steps back, reassess the situation, and execute if possible.

For those of you tuning in for the first time, the wheel of life cycle is a way of assessing my life over the last month in eight categories: personal development, physical environment, health, wealth, career, fun and hobbies, family and friends, and romantic relationships.

Wealth – 3

I’m going to cover just the ones that might be of importance for a lot of you. Some of you might be going through the same problems as me, yet you don’t know the solutions for getting over it. So, thi sone is especially for you all.

When everything began falling apart about a week ago, I had to take a step back and ask myself, “how can I make more money?” Robert Kiyosaki says if you say a statement, there’s nothing else you can do. It’s like quicksand that turn into cement.

Following that was a series of different occurrences. A lady, who I hadn’t spoken to in almost a year, called me out-of-the-blue. A few days later, I met with her an she offered me permanent, part-time work that enables me to get a decent, fall-back salary every month in case I don’t get work from my main job.

Ahhh, yes, the main job! On the verge of getting a visa and every salary this year has been head-scratching, to abhorrent. I cannot wait around and believe that people are going to fill my pockets. I had to go out and take, and that’s exactly what I did.

Family & Friends – 3

So, friends are gone. Yes, I met a friend while out there in Singapore, but after I came back, it’s been downhill. I must say that it’s quite funny when people try getting in touch with me again after x amount of weeks. A girl, who I had blocked because she was basically idolizing white men, sent me a message to my Facebook group. My content writer showed me the photo and I laughed. “Why come back now?” Unless it’s pure desperation, I won’t even think about messaging her back because there’s nothing to that friendship. It’s dead, history, archived.

Then, there was the weird situation where I met a samaritan from America at the base of my condo. After a few days, there was a message sent by him that was very…..peculiar. It was odd beyond belief. I didn’t quite understand it….to the point that I blocked him. That was so odd to the point that I was like, “whoa, how am I supposed to respond to a weird rant like that?”

Guys, dump those losers. Honestly, if they’re not feeding your roots or watering your plant, they’re looking for takeaway. When they get it, they’re going to leave anyway, so you might as well drop them from the beginning.

All in All

Let’s just say hypothetically speaking that everything goes the way it should. Now, living here in Thailand, nothing is perfect….but if all goes well today, and then all goes well next Thursday; 99% of my nervousness, anxiousness, and degree of worry will be expunged and done away with. When this happens, I’ll be able to refocus and reaffirm what’s really important in life.

High Fiber Foods & Why White Rice Doesn’t Work

Being from America, the country that has the most constipated citizens in the world (close to 60 million of the population), I seriously through rice was good for digestive health.

When I first started living in Thailand, my diet was absolutely horrid — consistent of fizzy drinks, 7-11 food, and constant KFC. I was afraid of eating Thai food any longer because of an immense stomach bug I had for around 5 weeks. When this happened, I began making all the wrong decisions, leading to 3-4 day constipation cycles. It wasn’t until 3-4 years ago when I start learning about healthy bacteria, probiotics, echinacea and a few other things that allowed me to achieve the healthy digestive tract that I desperately needed.

Fiber, also known as roughage, is the part of plant-based foods (grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and beans) that the body can’t break down. It passes through the body undigested, keeping your digestive system clean and healthy, easing bowel movements, and flushing cholesterol and harmful carcinogens out of the body.

Fiber comes in two varieties: insoluble and soluble.

Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water. It is the bulky fiber that helps to prevent constipation, and is found in whole grains, wheat cereals, and vegetables such as carrots, celery, and tomatoes.

Soluble fiber dissolves in water and helps control blood sugar levels and reduce cholesterol. Good sources include barley, oatmeal, beans, nuts, and fruits such as apples, berries, citrus fruits, and pears.

Many foods contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. In general, the more natural and unprocessed the food, the higher it is in fiber. There is no fiber in meat, dairy, or sugar. Refined or “white” foods, such as white bread, white rice, and pastries, have had all or most of their fiber removed.

And this is why understanding is very important when it comes to eating and rice in general. White rice has had all the fiber stripped from it. Brown rice and the other types out there have a considerable amount of fiber that will improve your overall digestive health.

So, for many American out there, how can you begin to bulk up on fiber and relieve your ever-clotting intestines? There are some ways.

Chia Seeds and Flak Seeds, which can be found in most whole-food markets, are high in omega-3 fatty acids and are known to lower cholesterol.

Most websites recommend carbohydrates, which also have good fiber….but these are also UNHEALTHY, through my eyes. Anytime I eat carbs and a lot of them, my stomach begins the back-up process.

Personally, Aloe Vera, which is the sacred nectar of the world, is my absolute favorite. If I drink this the night before and when I wake up, my digestive track works like a charm.

I’ve also boiled up carrots as part of my dinner in the evening. Make sure they’re not in the boiling hot water for too long, or all the nutrients will be wicked away. Have yourself a cucumber by your side, chop it up and gobble away.

Wheel of Life with Celina Celeste: Christmas Edition – Full Year Review (2018)

Man! What a year this was! Looking back on all of my wheel of life’s throughout the year, I was a scared boy in the beginning.  I’m super surprised that I made it this far in Thailand, this year, without giving up.  Looking where I was at the beginning, trying to get away from one of the most toxic jobs I’ve ever been a part of (and for a wicked three years), and seeing where I am now?! Just how did it happen? Well, this podcast isn’t only about myself, but it’s about Celina, who joins me on this gorgeous Christmas morning to give grace to what was a life-changing year for her, too! Here are my scores, a rundown, and then the podcast. 

Personal Development – 10

Why am I starting off with one of the highest marks? Well, honestly….if it wasn’t for Napoleon Hill’s Mental Attitude, Gary Vee in my ear, communicating with entrepreneurs all around the globe…no way this could’ve been so high.  From meeting Luke Burrows in February, to Celina (you) in March, and interviewing an author named David Mauro in the early stages of the year — kicking off a spectacular run — no words can describe it.  

Since then I’ve co-host a show with Luke Burrows called Motivational Mentors.  I’ve brought entrepreneurs from Malaysia on and even hired a content writer, Jiun Ting Yong, who’s been doing show notes and write-ups on TheArsenioBuckShow.com.  I got rid of a toxic graphic designer and hired another one from Myanmar who’s done very diligent work for me. I’m not speaking to coaches, mentors, entrepreneurs and others all around the globe, exchanging ideas on a daily basis.  This year, in terms of people individuals, has topped the previous 29 years of my life…and it’s not even close. 

Physical Environment – 9.5

At the beginning, I was shrugging off a toxic work environment, and that’s basically it.  After that, and towards the end of the year, perfect workplace with flexible hours, communicating with big companies all over Bangkok who are asking me for services, and living at a perfect condo. I can’t complain. 

Career – 10

This absolutely correlates with personal development. Yes, I could’ve launched some projects, but now on the dawn of the New Years, I have a course coming out on the Grow2Gether Academy.  I’ll be making a test with Celina, herself, for an English Test Preparation course, I’m launching The Arsenio Buck Foundation and my TOEIC grammar EBook in January.  That’s about 30% of what’s happening.  Honestly, since I dumped that job, my life has completely changed. COMPLETELY!

Wealth – 7

This category remains stagnant.  Grateful, but not much of a change from the beginning of the year.  Why? Literally freelancing and hustling and have been since the beginning.  From the beginning of my new life (after my old job) until now, I don’t have a “legit job,” therefore it’s pretty hard to know what’s coming and what’s not.  Plan for the New Years? Make multiple streams of income, and three of them will be launched at the beginning of the year.  No more working for money….let money work for me. 

Health – 9

Aside from some ailments that weren’t serious, I achieved one of the biggest goals of my life (the Spartan Trifecta). 

Fun & Hobbies – 10

7 countries.  Yes, i had to go based on being pressured by a Thai government, but being able to go to HK (somewhat of a forgettable trip), and my wondrous Singapore twice, was a blessing.  Yes, going back to Malaysia to meet my newly employed content writer in April, and having gone back to Malaysia in July AGAIN for some fun, was another blessing.  I began making my own schedule with my job, and having that type of control means all the difference in the world. 

Romantic Relationships

This was by far, the worst year.  Well, it’s a year that I stayed focused and didn’t want to get emotionally involved with ANYONE. It ended up playing dividends and helping me.  I didn’t let anyone (women — lol) inside my close circle.  I kept it tight with the most reliable people in my life, and I didn’t suffer any massive heartbreaks or fallouts. 

Family & Friends – 4

It’s not a bad 4.  I know, extremely low.  Family doesn’t exist and I didn’t add any friends, but it’s the smartest decision EVER.  I don’t want to add new friends, ANYMORE, to my closed circle.  They will forever being on the outside because I simply don’t trust “friends,” I only trust those that give me oxygen.

Interviewee #026 – Moustafa Sano – The Marathon Man!

I brought Moustafo on a long time ago, and here I am bringing him on again because there was a particular pain threshold he passed that I’m very captivated by.  Being able to overcome the amount of pain, a rain storm, fatigue and other things is just AMAZING. Reminds me of David Goggins, so here is my Malaysian fitness entrepreneur again!

This is a man that’s an ordinary guy trying to make an extraordinary impact on the world.  After starting his fitness journey playing football and wrestling in high school, he began studying exercise science in college.  This propelled him into the world of bodybuilding, powerlifting, and competing for several years.  8 months ago, he decided to compete in his first ever endurance race, a 50k ultra trail race.  That is only the beginning…..

Stephen Covey’s Speed of Trust: Season 4 – Episode 3 – A Summary of Taxes & Dividends

The Trust Tax.  Yes, sometimes there are hidden, ugly variables in that, too.

It’s very difficult to trust people who work for different companies, such as those exploitative companies that tell you, “hey! You can stay at our beautiful condominium for cheap tonight with no extra costs!”

If you guys didn’t hear the story about 1.5 years ago, here’s a snippet of it.

A friend and I walked into this touristy place on a cold Sedona morning and this guy gave us an offer that we couldn’t refuse.  However, I scratched the back part of my mind and knew there was always condition.  He stood right  before our eyes and told us that we can stay at this beautiful condominium for half the price and take a 20$ helicopter ride, only if we visit a timeshare the next day.

If you guys aren’t aware of timeshares, they have an abominable name and I’m still unaware of what they are…but let’s just say an extortionate scheme played by individuals to get you to pay less, but in hidden print, you’re paying 300% more.

We looked at the contract and my friend asked me, “be real, this is all we have to pay? We won’t be forced to buy anything?” We were at this place trying to get directions to gorgeous hiking places and we almost had our lives turned right upside down.  He said all we needed was a credit card to hold $200.  It would later be released.

When this conversation was going, two ladies next to us went up in arms and became defensive about their situation: “NO! We don’t want that. We’ll leave now. We want only this and that’s enough.  If not, we’re leaving.” These women were beyond aggressive; meanwhile, I tapped my friend on the leg and gestured to that situation and wrote on my phone (under the table), “this guy is trying to f*** us.”

Sure enough, the payment for the credit card never went through because my friend only had $200 on the card, the guy had three hidden fees totaling out to about $800 dollars.

Lesson learned. The measurable economics of trust could be unbelievably deceiving.  This man, who apparently has a family, would push a narrative to argue with people everyday? Just a sad life.  But just like Thailand, places similar to what I’ve just talked about do exist.

Wheel of Life: October 2018 Edition – Closing Out The Year

Another month, another close.  Yes, it’s been a year with far more ups than downs, but the closing is coming to an end.

How will you leave your mark?

For those of you tuning in for the first time, this is a podcast that’s for people who are willing to identify what areas of life are their strengths and which ones they’ve been neglecting.  Here are the categories.

Rate yourself from 1-10 in each category and be brutally honest about yourself.  Once you understand what areas are suffering, now you’re consciously aware and can make a change.  Here are not only my categories, but what I need to improve in.

Improvement Stages Launch

Normally I’ve talked about my main scores followed by explanation, but I want to see where I can improve.  It’s not about becoming a perfectionist, but improving.

Physical Environment – *3

So, in terms of my physical environment, I believe that it can increase significantly.  First and foremost, my separate projects outside my main place of work are great.  A turning point happened at my job where someone “bitched” at me over something that isn’t even worth repeating (ok, it was about writing on a back of a sheet of paper), but it made me realize “maybe this place doesn’t deserve a teacher like me?”  When she did this, I scratched my head and said, “I’m not going to get my visa until early next year…and that’s if I’m still here.”

That’s called a yellow flag, folks.  Never fully commit when you have nastiness happening.

I’m now cancelling a lot of my availability with the job — because I CAN.  I’m also focusing on my main projects, but that and a couple of blackouts at my condo has hampered the everlasting 10 you would see on a continuous basis.

Physical Environment – *2

I could’ve increased my personal development by a large margin if I just know how to end my day.

I’ve been scuffling and trying to figure out an evening routine that’s suitable for m Because I finish work so ridiculously late, it’s very hard for me to end my day effectively (no excuses.  It all deals with my phone.  If I’m able to listen to affirmations or listen to my “calm” application, which has some nice story-telling to put me in a good state of mind, I win.  However, I haven’t been able to do that.

So, there are several things that I will implement. Tune into my podcast down below for that!

Career – *1.5

Honestly, I’m on the right track.  The comments, the love, the support, the things I’m attracting…but my actions are still not showing that I’m hungry for my ebook and webinar launch.

Wealth – *5

This was the category that made me upset.  I should be making a solid figure per month at my day job, but I’m not — STILL.  So, what can I do to buck the trend? In the podcast!

Because I don’t want to make this long extra long, I decided put everything into my podcast down below to here how I’m able to cope with things that aren’t working.

Spartan Beast: Hua Hin, Thailand — Signed Up + No Longer “Obese”

A few days ago I was jumping in JOY and ECSTASY.  Never have I ever been so elated because of a machine.  When I saw BMI (Body Mass Index) the other day, I saw the Physique ratings at standard.  Six weeks prior to this, my physique was apparently obese, although I look relatively thin.  My metabolism before was at 35 (and I’m 30) and now it’s at 30. Let’s go over some of the categories that are on this piece of paper.

  • Weight – 76.6KG (2.3kg drop from last week)
  • Fat % – 21.4%
  • Fat Mass – 16.4kg
  • Muscle Mass – 57.1kg
  • Metabolic Age – 30
  • BMI – 23.4

Desirable Range

Fat % – 11.0 – 21.9

Fat Mass 7.4 – 16.9kg

Here’s about what 50% of the paper says, but my fat percentage and fat mass is 0.5 kg off after being about 2.0kg ver.

Now, does this change anything? No.  Does this change the fact that I feel my absolute healthiest that I’ve ever felt? Nope.  I’m super grateful that I’ve kept myself committed to going to a gym.  Everything is starting to unfold as it should and I’m super excited about it.

Also, I just signed up for the monstrous Beast in Hua Hin which will take place at the dawn of November.  Upon completion, I will be able to claim my Spartan Trifecta shirt and medal — what I’ve been chasing after for two years.
