How to Avoid the coronavirus and fear-mongering

So many publicists, media outlets, and dangerous people with a large following are pumping an insane amount of fear into human beings around the world, dictating their every move, perception, and even mind. People, welcome to my power post. You’re going to learn, in short, how to avoid the noise in the world.

1. CNN, FOXNEWS, & All forms of Media are CANCER.

These people don’t give a damn about your well-being; they only care about their penny-ad clicks and ratings. Whatever brings more people in, that’s what they pump out. CNN has a disgusting amount of race-bait articles because they know that’s what their followers like….FOXNEWS, too. These are cancerous beings, and to be honest, you won’t learn anything from it. Al Jazeera, BBC, and the rest….they will not help you with anything but their sole purpose for existing is to control your mind so you can pump more money into pharmaceutical industries.

2. Stay away from old people and their fear-mongering.

Sounds hateful, but an un-reputable Thai garbage news website employs they mega-old foreigners who have such a dim mindset on reality. I wasted about 10 minutes of my life reading a 65-year-old man’s article on “why we should care about the coronavirus,” and he incessantly told people “NOT TO COMPARE TO THE SEASONAL FLU” and how dangerous it is. It was laughable, because this is the first time in humankind that we have literally a SEASONAL FLU that’s disrupting their entire global economy based on fear-mongering. No one cancels plans if someone is sick with the flu, so why with the coronavirus? He tried to compare the percentages of deaths by coronavirus to the flu and that’s also incomparable, just because the flu had taken millions to the grave in the last decade. People, it’s all about perspective. This is the most opportunistic time in terms of stocks, real estate, building websites, launching businesses, etc. All the heavy-hitters have gotten smashed, and this is a great opportunity for the little guy.

3. If it doesn’t serve you, drop it.

I look at the numbers game on a website. I look at a live map fool of numbers, once a day, so I can see what’s happening around the world. I’m in Thailand, a place that is completely undercutting the suspected number of coronavirus cases, but I know I would NEVER catch it because my immune system and the caution I use (living in a polluted city has enabled that).

4. Basic steps and forget it

Media-fast — #1. “The world is burning! The world is burning! OMG! We’re going to die!” After that, they tell you to do something…and you do, ultimately profiting them. The media is a parasite of the world. If it doesn’t serve you, you drop it. Now, if you’re in an infected zone or dealing with people face-to-face, use caution. I can only speak by experience.

Busy day: I’m on a train….I have an N95 mask on — no matter what — because of the pollution. I don’t touch rails or anything on the train, just the handle to my luggage. Everywhere I go I take a portable sanitizer. The destinations I go to have sanitizers and check temperatures, which is technically me free medical checkup. Every week I go to my workplace on the weekend and they check my temperature, so week-after-week, I see if I have a fever, which is always NNNOOOOOOO.

I avoid large gatherings and touching services. When I exchange money, give money, or get something handed to me, I DO NOT adjust my mask or put my fingers near my eyes until I get situated and get sanitizer. I listen closely to people who are coughing. On the train, if someone coughs, I move to another car. If someone sneezes, it’s never near me….but I still move to another car. If you’re sitting directly to someone, try just standing up (if possible) and WEAR A MASK. The dumb ass doctors of America say “NO! STOP IT! IT WON’T HELP!” It’s because they’re working for the garbage pharmaceutical companies that are making billions and want more people to get sick. Whatever they say…do the OPPOSITE!

Don’t touch anything at home until you sanitize. Walk in the door, sanitize, put stuff away, then wash your hands. Get yourself an air purifier. I’ve just bought one, which I’ll post in a separate article, and it is stupendously amazing because it feels like I’m breathing in American air — literally. My chest isn’t congested in the morning, no sniffles, no mucous buildup. It’s unbelievably AMAZING.

And those are your steps.

Season 1: Episode 4 – Book Review – Material & Sexual Mask

Let me first ask you some questions.

  • Are you driven to a country because of sexual activities?
  • Do you want to buy a car because of your insecurities?
  • Does having a big house mean more to you than making a difference?

Those are the most basic questions in terms of these masks.  From the sex tourists that have made Thailand the number 1 tourist destination on the planet as of 2017 (ok, not all are, but a significant portion of that 20 million came here to engage in sexual interaction), to the high society who lavish themselves in luxuries to cover-up what’s really wrong underneath their skin.

Welcome to the two most vicious masks of society (as most of them are).

Ok, maybe the material mask relates to women more than men, but if you put the #entrepreneurship hashtag in on Instagram, you will see a lot of men wearing super expensive suits (rented), wearing fancy watches (also rented) while standing in front of planes (jumping over fences to get to them) or standing in front of cars (without the license plate pictured).  Yes, I’m calling out the Laguna boys who seemingly lost all perspective in terms of living.

Shows such as Jersey Shore made it much worse when it was all about body-building, money and the latest trends.  This goes for both men and women.

Lewis Howes, at the time of writing the book, was sitting in a massive mansion in Beverly Hills.  This mansion was owned by one of the most polarizing characters (and still is) by the name of Tai Lopez.  Yes, the man who spouted “KNAWLEDDDGEEE” all over the net, preaching to people about the “good” life on a Ted Talk stage, and someone who would constantly show his materials.  He also went on to say, “these materials don’t mean anything,” but it’s a selling point for you to get those weak-minded individuals into buying your courses?

Anywho, this is a man who’s hampered by the media-crazy materialistic America.

“The irony is, for so many people, all that materialism invalidates the quality of a person’s ideas. There’s nothing Tai can do to get those people to hear him, which just drives him further behind the Material Mask. It’s like someone trying to convince you that they care about you by screaming, “I love you!” louder and louder right in your face at the top of their lungs with the veins bulging out of their neck. You don’t hear the words; you only see the vulgar display.”

Excerpt From: Lewis Howes. “The Mask of Masculinity.” iBooks.

What’s available if you drop the mask?

Fulfillment
Worthiness
Inner peace
Attracting people who are interested in who you are, not how much you have
Feeling enough
Satisfaction with your achievements
Gratitude

Sexual Mask

I worked at a job in Pathumthani, Thailand who had about 13 anglo teachers (the emphasis is coming), all of which who escaped a terrible divorce, got shunned by their own children (who no longer speak to them) and ended up seeking refuge by marrying a poor woman from a village.  This is the story of the over 45s here in Thailand.

Ok, those are wife-tourists.

Let’s put some focus on the sex monsters.

You’re Either Positive; Or You’re Negative

Family

After going through a journey back home to America in 2012, meeting some of the most magnificent people in Thailand, Japan, and Hawaii, you could imagine how high I was on Cloud 9.  I felt like I had conquered everything.  I was really unsure of my whereabouts over the ensuing months, but I was still elated at the fact that I went to a wild Bangkok/Phuket and I touched down in Japan.

The moment I got home, my mother picked me up at the airport and took me back to that “neighborhood.”  I was in limbo and still in vacation mode, but then slowly I smelled (marijuana) in the neighborhood and in my house – nothing had changed.  For one year I was gone, my family was still circling around in that wheel of life many people fall victim too.

I was lecturing my sister that evening about my travels to Japan, what was happening in my life, meeting people at a bar not too far from my house, and of course, the girl racial comment I got was from an anglo woman making fun of the Japanese Kanji lettering on my t-shirt.  Welcome back to Las Vegas.

My brother had a cluster of bumps on his back and ultimately needed surgery; my oldest sister was going through a TERRIBLE breakup and kept bitching about her BF, and my youngest sister, cleverly, tucked herself away in the bedroom.

Look, either you’re going to be positive or negative.  I didn’t know anywhere near as much as I do now, but I knew that complaining about reality and circumstances were going to get me nowhere.  My mom lost her job because of poor decisions, and I don’t ever recall my mom getting a job until I left (9-10 month period).  So, my brother and I had to pay the bills and it was competition.  If I paid 20$, he paid 30$ and told me I wasn’t doing much for mom.  Every time he came around me, he was always upset and wanting to bitch about something.  I could feel the energy when he walked by, and luckily, just days before my departure, the eruption didn’t happen.  I felt it festering because I wasn’t talking to my family AT ALL, but thankfully nothing ridiculous happened before I left.

Some things I will just never understand I suppose.

Teacher Ray

47-year-old Irishman who I worked with at my first, and worst job (of my life) back in Chanthaburi Thailand, which is located about 3 hours southeast from Bangkok.  Now that I look back at this particular individual, I realize that he’s the epitome of what’s wrong with foreigners in Thailand – and now he’s trapped with a child the government has taken away from him.

He had a wife that barely knew any English, and one of the most wonderful daughters one could ever imagine.  She was delightful and had a contagious laugh; also calling me “Uncle Buck.”

However, Ray would talk about his past life heaps for some odd reason.  There was a particular character he worked with and he just couldn’t let the stories go.  I’m guessing this is what he ended up running away in general.  He would go to bars, have sex with women between 18-30 years of age (in Thailand it’s extremely easy when you’re of a fair complexion), and cheat on his wife continuously.  Every time I was around him, he complained about the world and all the politics.  He never smiled or laughed about anything – just full on rants.  Last time I heard two years ago that his life left him, taking the child.  He began dating someone at the school we worked at and then broke up (super awkward situation).  He then started spewing a lot of hate at staff and then POOF! Just like that…he up and left.  Most foreign men over 40-45 years of age in Thailand suffer from the same thing.

Last Job

40-45 year olds complaining, bitching, having sex with the staff behind their wives’ backs, pointing fingers, saying their students are dumb, alcoholics, drug addicts, whore buyers.  You name it.  This was my workplace.  All of them? Well, about 75% of them.  The other ones I just couldn’t figure out.  In 2016 and after reading Jack Canfield’s book, I realized that being around life-sucking animals was stumping my growth, so I started ignoring everyone and then the “taddle-telling” began.

You had a teacher who was 72 and had a 40-year-old wife, insulting her on a continuous basis and spewing hateful rhetoric about muslims at work.  You had one of the most despicable human beings who was 50 and had a 18-year-old girlfriend.  Apparently he was a neighborhood drunk and constantly argued and beat her, all while smashing bottles out on the streets.  Another one, who was actually the worst teacher and had the worst complaints, had sex with staff, and on a nightly basis, he drove to 7-11, chugged down 3 beers, and went home.  Another one was jacked up on drugs.

I mean, why am I telling you these stories.  One, be grateful.  Be grateful that you’re not trapped in a country you absolutely hate (well, most of us).  Realize that everything you’re putting out is going to ultimately come back.  If you’re a negative, newly divorced old man, southeast Asia isn’t for you because you could be part of the jumping men, which are men who hurl themselves over balconies in Pattaya, Thailand, killing themselves.

If you move to a country because you think women are submissive and you think it’s an easy life, you’re going to find yourself hating that country because you will attract to you the bottom-of-the-food-chain-women who will milk you of all your savings.  I used to see this everyday in Pathumthani, a province north of Bangkok.  On weekends, the play was overflowing with pedaphiles trying to solicit young girls and boys to sex, but of course police did NOTHING because they were “white,” through the eyes of the dumb-beholders.  Seeing this everyday — working at a job where the British head teacher, too, was a wife-tourist — was disheartening and infuriating.

I wanted to be happy.  That area was slum-filled with the worst of mindsets.  So, how I had to infer and look at my life through a strangers eyes.  I was unhappy, terrible health (lots of pollution around there), racism, removed from company, lack of hours and money.

LEAVE.

I was either going to be on the offense, or be defensive. I was either going to surround myself with writers, business owners, trainers, and successful people – or be around men who escaped the past.  It was one way or the other.  I chose to go right.

Tim Ferris – Low-Information Diet

Climate change, deforestation, extreme temperatures, fossil fuel emissions, global warming, homelessness, famine, an epidemic, nuclear explosion, end of the world – is all of this going to make your day better, let alone help you achieve your goals?

I don’t even have to say it.

From this point forward, I’m going to propose that you develop an uncanny ability to be selectively ignorant. Ignorance may be bliss, but it is also practical. It is imperative that you learn to ignore or redirect all information and interruptions that are irrelevant, unimportant, or unactionable. Most are all three.
The first step is to develop and maintain a low-information diet. Just as modern man consumes both too many calories and calories of no nutritional value, information workers eat data both in excess and from the wrong sources. – Tim Ferris

This is the end.  From this day going forward, let’s try to go on a one-week media fast.  No magazines, newspapers, television, non music radio, twitter feeds regarding anything negative, websites (especially political ones).  If you want to know what’s going on in the world, simply ask someone during a 1 hour lunch break every now and then, “hey, anything important going on in the world?”

Tim Ferris, during the elections 5 years ago, emailed some of his closest friends pertaining to the election.  Although he was in Germany, he still wanted to vote and trusted the expertise of his closest affiliates instead of becoming inundated in an emotional war between parties.

You’re probably wondering, “what the heck can I do with all this extra time?” Well, it’s amazing knowing you have free’d yourself from sheer pessimism, but there are great alternatives like making speaking to your spouse, quality time with the kids, reading SELF-DEVELOPMENT BOOKS (no love stories gone wrong), to-do lists, projects, etc.  If you desperately have to, look at a business magazine if you’re tuned into the business aspect of the world.  If you see that there’s a lot of bickering, as there will be, and like a bad movie (Black Christmas circa 2007), put down the newspaper or walk out of the theater!

Jack Canfield – Use Social Media In A Way That Enhances Your Reputation

“The internet has been the most fundamental change during my lifetime and for hundreds of years.  It’s the biggest thing since the invention of writing.” – Rupert Murdoch.

I was vastly intrigued by the perseverance by the great Jack Ma and how he was able to overcome so many obstacles throughout the 90’s in terms of bring not only internet to China, but ecommerce as well.  The internet and social media has finally hit the tipping point where – instead of seeing a lot of interest but not many takers – we’re now seeing millions of followers convert into “buyers.”

How To Get Followers To Stay Engaged With You

To reach that goal, you’ll need to have your friends, students (like mine), family, and other people spread the word.

You’ll want to maintain an ongoing present on the most popular social media sites.  Facebook houses 900 million users worldwide and twitter + instagram are moving up in the ranks.

I’ve already said about having a private Facebook page for sharing your personal information and photographs with your close friends and family.  However, you can also create a Facebook fan page for you business on the Facebook home page.

Be interesting. Be engaging.  Be helpful enough and create each post in a way that people will want to hear more, such as this one.  This requires more than just product announcements.  what does Facebook recommend to better engage your fans?

  1. Rich Media = combination with written words.  Photos and videos get the attention of most people.
  2. Increased engagement with you Facebook posts by creating two-way conversations between you and your followers.  Post a quote, a video, or an idea and ask followers to share their thoughts.
  3. If you own a business, share discounts and promotions that are exclusive to Facebook followers.  Always include a clear call-to-action with the exact steps to take to redeem the voucher.
  4. Provide access to exclusive information.  “Janet Switzer uses this to launch her clients on Facebook or provide a boost where they need to get more followers.  She broadcasts an email to the client’s list offering a special report or other item of interest – then asks them to “Like Us on Facebook” in order to get the report.

The other six steps are on my podcast so tune in!
