How to Avoid the coronavirus and fear-mongering

So many publicists, media outlets, and dangerous people with a large following are pumping an insane amount of fear into human beings around the world, dictating their every move, perception, and even mind. People, welcome to my power post. You’re going to learn, in short, how to avoid the noise in the world.

1. CNN, FOXNEWS, & All forms of Media are CANCER.

These people don’t give a damn about your well-being; they only care about their penny-ad clicks and ratings. Whatever brings more people in, that’s what they pump out. CNN has a disgusting amount of race-bait articles because they know that’s what their followers like….FOXNEWS, too. These are cancerous beings, and to be honest, you won’t learn anything from it. Al Jazeera, BBC, and the rest….they will not help you with anything but their sole purpose for existing is to control your mind so you can pump more money into pharmaceutical industries.

2. Stay away from old people and their fear-mongering.

Sounds hateful, but an un-reputable Thai garbage news website employs they mega-old foreigners who have such a dim mindset on reality. I wasted about 10 minutes of my life reading a 65-year-old man’s article on “why we should care about the coronavirus,” and he incessantly told people “NOT TO COMPARE TO THE SEASONAL FLU” and how dangerous it is. It was laughable, because this is the first time in humankind that we have literally a SEASONAL FLU that’s disrupting their entire global economy based on fear-mongering. No one cancels plans if someone is sick with the flu, so why with the coronavirus? He tried to compare the percentages of deaths by coronavirus to the flu and that’s also incomparable, just because the flu had taken millions to the grave in the last decade. People, it’s all about perspective. This is the most opportunistic time in terms of stocks, real estate, building websites, launching businesses, etc. All the heavy-hitters have gotten smashed, and this is a great opportunity for the little guy.

3. If it doesn’t serve you, drop it.

I look at the numbers game on a website. I look at a live map fool of numbers, once a day, so I can see what’s happening around the world. I’m in Thailand, a place that is completely undercutting the suspected number of coronavirus cases, but I know I would NEVER catch it because my immune system and the caution I use (living in a polluted city has enabled that).

4. Basic steps and forget it

Media-fast — #1. “The world is burning! The world is burning! OMG! We’re going to die!” After that, they tell you to do something…and you do, ultimately profiting them. The media is a parasite of the world. If it doesn’t serve you, you drop it. Now, if you’re in an infected zone or dealing with people face-to-face, use caution. I can only speak by experience.

Busy day: I’m on a train….I have an N95 mask on — no matter what — because of the pollution. I don’t touch rails or anything on the train, just the handle to my luggage. Everywhere I go I take a portable sanitizer. The destinations I go to have sanitizers and check temperatures, which is technically me free medical checkup. Every week I go to my workplace on the weekend and they check my temperature, so week-after-week, I see if I have a fever, which is always NNNOOOOOOO.

I avoid large gatherings and touching services. When I exchange money, give money, or get something handed to me, I DO NOT adjust my mask or put my fingers near my eyes until I get situated and get sanitizer. I listen closely to people who are coughing. On the train, if someone coughs, I move to another car. If someone sneezes, it’s never near me….but I still move to another car. If you’re sitting directly to someone, try just standing up (if possible) and WEAR A MASK. The dumb ass doctors of America say “NO! STOP IT! IT WON’T HELP!” It’s because they’re working for the garbage pharmaceutical companies that are making billions and want more people to get sick. Whatever they say…do the OPPOSITE!

Don’t touch anything at home until you sanitize. Walk in the door, sanitize, put stuff away, then wash your hands. Get yourself an air purifier. I’ve just bought one, which I’ll post in a separate article, and it is stupendously amazing because it feels like I’m breathing in American air — literally. My chest isn’t congested in the morning, no sniffles, no mucous buildup. It’s unbelievably AMAZING.

And those are your steps.

The Pat Flynn Podcast that Changed My Business

Be Small!

Wow, here I am commuting from one side of town to the other, and in the back of the taxi, on a dreary day in Bangkok, Thailand, I said to myself: “it’s time to listen to Pat Flynn.”

Pat Flynn, an entrepreneur most of you probably don’t know about, has an unbelievable and fiery podcast.  The last couple times I’ve listened to his podcast I couldn’t believe the gold he was spewing.  Here’s the one that could perhaps change your business FOREVER.

The reason why I’m making this blog and podcast is because examples are needed when deviating and going through a forest, which could have a lot of problems. Let’s break this down.

Go Niche/Find Your Specialty

He talked about going into a shoe store that had a variety of different shoes.  Let’s take this an example.  You go into a store that doesn’t specialize in what you’re looking for, “running shoes.”  You want to go to a store that has specialists that know a lot about running shoes, right? Not a specialist that knows about basketball shoes only.

It’s like a dentist.  If there’s a problem with your molars and you have horizontal impaction (basically your third molar being completely under your gums and heading in a perpendicular direction), you’re going to want to have an oral surgeon extract that tooth, rather than a general dentist, right?

This is what he’s talking about.

Become The Go-To Person in Your Space

Can you become the next go-to person in personal development? Probably not.  That’s what Pat Flynn says.  However, I beg to differ.  Tony Robbins is a guy that only associates himself with upper/rich people.  He doesn’t spend his days going through social media and talking to the average Joe.  This is how YOU WIN!  I’m telling you this because every YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter comment is for you to respond to and create a personal bond with that individual.  Also, to talk to Tony Robbins, you would have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars.

There are other ways of going smaller.  It’s like being a “definite purpose” coach.  A coach that defines and help people with going after their definite-chief aim.

Being a meditation coach.  Yes, Marisa Peer and others are probably up there, but do they talk to the average person? Do they have personal relationships with their followers online? How about MindValley Academy? Does Vishen respond to comments and stuff? Absolutely not. This is YOUR ADVANTAGE!

1st Advantage – Coming in Late

That’s right.  Sure, Rachel English, who’s technically my competitor, came in years ago.  Most literal thinkers would say, “it’s too late!”  Actually, no.  It’s not.

If we look at Vantanika, for example.  She’s been in the fashion industry here in Thailand for 6 years and she’s a Thai billionaire because she graduated from university in London.  Please, get it out of your head….IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.

I can create a map of things that exist.

Create an excel sheet: Four columns: places

Places – Where your target market exists.

In personal development, it’s sporadic.  However, by looking at the majority of my students on YouTube, Instagram, podcast and Facebook, it comes down to Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, France, Israel, Japan, Taiwan, Ireland and Turkey.

Pretty broad, I know.  But this is where my attention is at the moment.

People – influencers and trust of audience.

I went on Instagram and checked Rachel English and a few others.  There’s one influencer, who lives in California, but she’s not consistent with pumping out contact.  Moreover, she talks about slang, which is fine, but that’s a very sub-sub-sub niche market.

There was another girl that included gender and human rights in her posts, which isn’t really good because that could ultimately take out some of her business.

Rachel doesn’t have an Instagram, which is unbelievably SHOCKING, considering that she has 1 million YouTubers.  This is where I can “own a hashtag” because the amount of tags I put on Instagram everyday.

Products – What are you competitors putting out?

IELTS, a test given to non-NES speakers, has the British Council.  Yes, it’s super famous.  Yeah, there are IELTS examiners all around BKK and even on all social media platforms, but is it personal? The problem with big corporations is just that…they’re big corporations.  They don’t have ANY personal bonds or relationships with commenters and students in general.  If someone ask about a tip for the IELTS exam, no one would respond.

Another IELTS website sells a lot of courses, but there aren’t any faces there? You don’t see a face ANYWHERE in terms of learning and who created the courses.  Massive disadvantage, but now I understand what they’re selling and how they’re selling it.

Position in the space – under-serving?

When I first created my ESL podcast, I realized that with Gary Vee’s book Crushing it, I’ll be able create seasons on my podcast and make content that keeps bringing my students back.  There isn’t a soul in the podcast realm who are teaching season by season at the moment.  Also, English learning on podcasts wasn’t famous 5 years ago, or even three years ago.  Asia and South America are being introduced to podcasts today, and because that’s happening, it’s a massive advantage.  Why? Well, would you listen to a podcast that was uploaded yesterday or 5 years ago?  Would you ask someone a question about a podcast 5 years ago, or one that was uploaded one week ago? Grammar, Pronunciation, Speaking Skills, Developing Confidence, Critical Thinking, Freewriting….no one is this dynamic in my field.

2nd Advantage – Better Connection

Connect with a higher percentage.  Reply to tweets, Instagram messages, emails, etc.

Pat Flynn’s Study Guide in the podcast down below.

This is when you can get the upper-hand on your competitors pretty quickly.

The Latest Technological Trends & Innovations You Should Watch (Longread – 3/3)

The biggest thing that’s about to occur will be virtual reality or augmented reality in medical science where it allows doctors to make a better diagnosis and learn more about the function of human being’s organs that are deemed to be vital to doctors — especially in training of trainee doctors. With the power of virtual reality or augmented reality, it will lower cases of medical malpractice. Even VR technology can be used for online shopping and fully utilised in property purchase and tourism as a typical client or tourist could only display their intended products and tourist destination.

Learning about artificial intelligence is going to be magnificent because the ability to enhance intelligence.  With deep learning and artificial intelligence capabilities, Elon Musk seemed to be quite pessimistic as he envisioned judgment day like the 1990s famous science – fiction movie where robots were out on their mission to terminate humans (remember Terminator 2: Judgment Day). Ok, the US government, after all, isdoing R&D on artificial intelligence robots as their soldiers and high, technological defence weapons that may deploy into war in the future to come. Moreover, Google AI managed to defeat a professional Go player and Facebook previous AI technology research did bring some horror to the team by experimented their AI to code a software by automating it.

However, AI is capable of creating its own programming language to replace the programming language that the AI was originally unable to use.  The Facebook research team quickly shut down the experimented programme, prompting fears that something can happen. I think because AI is capable of self-teaching and defeated a professional Go Player that required creative thinking and critical thinking, most importantly, humans were biologically programmed genetically as a risk.  That’s what makes us unique and different from AI and other deep learning machines.

All isn’t lost with hope because PwC did research that AI is capable of creating many jobs for people to earn an income, despite many jobs becoming automated.  Many opportunities are already being laid on the table, provided we have the necessary skills to make ourselves employable once again. The real big thing will be the law of singularity which means the AI and the human brain would eventually merge and become known as the neutral link. Many futurists already foresaw it since the internet boom and being depicted by a Hollywood science-fiction movie where it was known as the human hybrid which you conversing with. A couple of years ago, despite Elon Musk’s pessimism about the AI, but, amazingly, he was interested to merge both the human brain built out of biological tissue with a supercomputer.

It is interesting to know about all these predictions by futurists, technologists, business leaders and venture capitalists. All I can say is that we are living in an exciting era that just like our great grandparents and our forefathers had witnessed the twi Industrial Revolutions in the late 18th century and the early 19th century, till the dawn of the 20th century where Henry Ford managed to master the production lines that were so perfect that he managed to increase his factory’s output and his workers’ productivity. This managed to bring these people from their farms and stuck in poverty into great urbanisation and ushered the new era of the 20th century and the 21st century as an age of the rise of Middle Class and Upper-Middle Class.

It is truly a good time to be alive to see history in the making once again and live with history. The Millennials, like me, are already the pioneer of a new way of doing things that don’t need to lock up in the old way of building a business and working place by leveraging the power of the interconnection and globalisation. This allows us to work with others through collaboration, to build new things, and bring social changes that are truly making a great impact as long as the Roman writer once said as he wrote Aeneid by Virgil “Fortune favours the bold….”

Jack Canfield – Brand Yourself With An Online Persona

“Personal branding online is not about you’ it’s about your content.  How do you become someone worth talking to, or even better, worth talking about?”

3 years ago I was engaged in a online battle of wits on a sports forum that defaced who I was and everything I represented.  Because I saw a racial remark, I retaliated in a way I shouldn’t have and got banned from using Facebook for 16 hours.

The most disturbing part about it was the stalking that ensued.  Someone in Florida who wasn’t too keen on what I said at the particular moment literally stocked me for the next year, trying to find “caucasian/anglosaxon” people on my Facebook and sent them a snapshot of what I said.

For one year….there was a faceless human being who probably had insecurities of his own who followed me and literally tried getting me in trouble at the various work places I had at that particular moment – 10,000 miles away.

Every day, millions of internet users go online with little to no thought of the portrait they paint about themselves in the digital world.   We can make inflammatory comments on controversial blogs, especially politics.  We tweet meaningless messages about our personal lives.  We post questionable photos on our Facebook pages and upload videos of their hobbies, parties, vacations, and friends alongside professional clips on YouTube – never considering what this haphazard collection of information portrays about us.

Listen, people – public content that can be searched instantly by a potential employer, investor, bank loan officer – even a first date…can be used against you.

In terms of successful people, they know how to manage their online persona.  Post only information that will contribute positively to the image they present to the world.  Even when they are voicing their opinions and bring their personality to the internet, they think about the impact it will have.

What does your online presence say about you?

Personal branding isn’t just for celebrities.

The reality is that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and other platforms of social media can be used BY ANYONE to create a brand.

Personal branding forces you to be crystal clear on what you want to achieve and helps you set goals to get there.  It helps you create visibility and present, which attracts likeminded people.

So what are the steps to creating a personal brand online?

Step one: Decide who you want to be.

To develop an online persona or “brand” that will advance your career, business or cause, start distributing content that positions you as someone who can benefit a potential employer, customer, investor, future mentor, coach, or sponsor.

Step two: Determine the market you want to reach.

What categories of people will benefit the most from your knowledge, expertise, or opinions? Do they work in your industry, have an interest in your friend of study, or are they random consumers who have the same hobby, decorating ideas, fashion sense, or entertainment preferences that you do?  Also, as part of the process of determining the market you want to reach, be sure to take a moment and Google yourself.  Is this what you want people to see? Next, Google your top “competitor” by name.  What do the search results tell you?

Step three: Start a blog and build a website.

In the beginning of my journey, I was just a podcaster who sent audios to my friends.  Now I’m posting links to my podcast along with inspirational photos on my instagram which automatically get uploaded to my Facebook page which is The Arsenio Buck Show.  In addition to that, anytime I blog, the link gets posted directly to my LinkedIn account, twitter and other social media platforms.  I’m reaching a new market of people just by taking advantage of all the media that’s how there these days.

Blogging is probably the best way to hone your brand online.  Writing your thoughts, sharing your experiences, and helping people when they bring up a question (as I did two days ago on youtube) or comment about a blog post will help you build confidence in your personal brand.

Best way to start a blog is with wordpress or wix. You can choose a variety of themes, write your own biography, easily upload pictures from royalty-free photography sources around the internet.  Learn how to tag, too.  Tags and categories mean a lot because that will connect other users who are searching or using those terms with you. Again, likeminded attracts likeminded, right?
