If you cannot get control of yourself, do not try to get rich. It makes no sense to invest, make money, and blow it. It is the lack of self-discipline that causes most lottery winners to go broke soon after winning millions. It is the lack of self-discipline that causes people who get a raise to immediately go out and buy a new car or take a cruise.

It is difficult to say which of the 10 steps is the most important. But of all the steps, this step is probably the most difficult to master if it is not already a part of your makeup. I would venture to say that personal self-discipline is the number-one delineating factor between the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Simply put, people who have low self-esteem and low tolerance for financial pressure can never be rich. As I have said, a lesson learned from my rich dad was that the world will push you around. The world pushes people around, not because other people are bullies, but because the individual lacks internal control and discipline. People who lack internal fortitude often become victims of those who have self-discipline.

How to Avoid the coronavirus and fear-mongering

So many publicists, media outlets, and dangerous people with a large following are pumping an insane amount of fear into human beings around the world, dictating their every move, perception, and even mind. People, welcome to my power post. You’re going to learn, in short, how to avoid the noise in the world.

1. CNN, FOXNEWS, & All forms of Media are CANCER.

These people don’t give a damn about your well-being; they only care about their penny-ad clicks and ratings. Whatever brings more people in, that’s what they pump out. CNN has a disgusting amount of race-bait articles because they know that’s what their followers like….FOXNEWS, too. These are cancerous beings, and to be honest, you won’t learn anything from it. Al Jazeera, BBC, and the rest….they will not help you with anything but their sole purpose for existing is to control your mind so you can pump more money into pharmaceutical industries.

2. Stay away from old people and their fear-mongering.

Sounds hateful, but an un-reputable Thai garbage news website employs they mega-old foreigners who have such a dim mindset on reality. I wasted about 10 minutes of my life reading a 65-year-old man’s article on “why we should care about the coronavirus,” and he incessantly told people “NOT TO COMPARE TO THE SEASONAL FLU” and how dangerous it is. It was laughable, because this is the first time in humankind that we have literally a SEASONAL FLU that’s disrupting their entire global economy based on fear-mongering. No one cancels plans if someone is sick with the flu, so why with the coronavirus? He tried to compare the percentages of deaths by coronavirus to the flu and that’s also incomparable, just because the flu had taken millions to the grave in the last decade. People, it’s all about perspective. This is the most opportunistic time in terms of stocks, real estate, building websites, launching businesses, etc. All the heavy-hitters have gotten smashed, and this is a great opportunity for the little guy.

3. If it doesn’t serve you, drop it.

I look at the numbers game on a website. I look at a live map fool of numbers, once a day, so I can see what’s happening around the world. I’m in Thailand, a place that is completely undercutting the suspected number of coronavirus cases, but I know I would NEVER catch it because my immune system and the caution I use (living in a polluted city has enabled that).

4. Basic steps and forget it

Media-fast — #1. “The world is burning! The world is burning! OMG! We’re going to die!” After that, they tell you to do something…and you do, ultimately profiting them. The media is a parasite of the world. If it doesn’t serve you, you drop it. Now, if you’re in an infected zone or dealing with people face-to-face, use caution. I can only speak by experience.

Busy day: I’m on a train….I have an N95 mask on — no matter what — because of the pollution. I don’t touch rails or anything on the train, just the handle to my luggage. Everywhere I go I take a portable sanitizer. The destinations I go to have sanitizers and check temperatures, which is technically me free medical checkup. Every week I go to my workplace on the weekend and they check my temperature, so week-after-week, I see if I have a fever, which is always NNNOOOOOOO.

I avoid large gatherings and touching services. When I exchange money, give money, or get something handed to me, I DO NOT adjust my mask or put my fingers near my eyes until I get situated and get sanitizer. I listen closely to people who are coughing. On the train, if someone coughs, I move to another car. If someone sneezes, it’s never near me….but I still move to another car. If you’re sitting directly to someone, try just standing up (if possible) and WEAR A MASK. The dumb ass doctors of America say “NO! STOP IT! IT WON’T HELP!” It’s because they’re working for the garbage pharmaceutical companies that are making billions and want more people to get sick. Whatever they say…do the OPPOSITE!

Don’t touch anything at home until you sanitize. Walk in the door, sanitize, put stuff away, then wash your hands. Get yourself an air purifier. I’ve just bought one, which I’ll post in a separate article, and it is stupendously amazing because it feels like I’m breathing in American air — literally. My chest isn’t congested in the morning, no sniffles, no mucous buildup. It’s unbelievably AMAZING.

Last Trip of The Year: Vientiane, Laos — AGAIN! End of The Month!

Ok, so that’s Malaysia twice, Singapore twice, Laos twice, and Hong Kong.

DAMN!

Now, I won’t go so far to say that I’ve traveled to these places for all the reasons, but out of the exception of my Malaysian trips (awesome holiday and Spartan Race), these have been for visa runs.

However, this one coming up right now will be for a better visa run, requiring me to stay for two nights and finally make a mash-up of YouTube videos to show you what the capital of this gorgeous country looks like.  Soooooooo…elated about that.

Let us just take a moment right now and appreciate the madness I’ve been through this year.  The jobs, which were a bunch of dead end promises, have made me go outside these borders seven times this year — a record.  Now, I’m unbelievably grateful for traveling to these wonderful countries, but they weren’t legitimate holidays which are absolutely looming large in the New Year.

Nonetheless, from the scattered forests of Seminyih, Malaysia, a place I could’ve potentially died because there was zero transportation; to stepping outside singapore for the first time and seeing just a snippet of what I saw (compared to my last trip there); and also going to Hong Kong — a very questionable trip (this was the trip I’ve scratched my head about a lot….ha!).  What a magnificent and fulfilling year I’ve had, and I’m going to top it off by finally enjoying a place I can eat my wonderful banana pancakes at.

Traveling Goals for the New Years?

Yikes, after being challenged by my best friend (COME ON! DO A BEAST WITH ME AT TRI STATE!) to do a Spartan race in New York, to a toss up between Japan/Egypt (I really need a change of scenery and need to get out of Asian culture).  When I finally do these trips, they’ll be legitimate because I will no longer have to leave the country and come back on a short notice, just to get a refreshed 30-day visa (complications of requirements in this country is ______________<—-fill in the blank).  I won’t jinx anything yet, but with what’s happening in my personal development career and ESL life, we’ve got historical trips looming large!

“And the great psychologist Sigmund Freud says: “The further our work proceeds and the deeper our knowledge of the mental life of neurotics penetrates, the more clearly two new factors force themselves upon our notice which demand the closest attention as sources of resistance…. They can both be included under the one description of ‘need to be ill’ or ‘need to suffer.’…The first of these two factors is the sense of guilt or consciousness of guilt…
And Sigmund Freud is right. For feelings of guilt have motivated men to destroy their lives, mutilate their bodies, or injure themselves in other ways to atone for their wrongdoing. For the conscious mind may not feel guilty but the subconscious mind does.”

A good example of guilty people would be the military, most notably the USA Military.  They have so much guilt on their conscious to the point when they go home, they can’t adapt.  They have PTSD, followed by flashbacks of being in war and they’re never able to get over it.  Sometimes they have to kill children and women for whatever pressured reason it may be (insurgency).  This is a difficult guilt to come across.

However, if you’re dealing with guilt because of what happened in the past relationship, friendship, job or anything…it’s going to kill you — literally.

Living with that particular burden on your chest is something that forms regret.  Regret is poison.  I have no guilt for what has happened with my family and the way things are now.  It’s way out of my control.  I have no guilt for the things I’ve said about past teachers  because it’s all the truth.  I don’t have ANY guilt for words towards Thai women because it’s the truth and what I’ve experienced, first-hand, with my own eyes.

If you’re saying, “I wish I could’ve done __________,”….stop.  Instead, say “I’m glad I did this because I learned by……….”

“A guilt feeling can teach you consideration for others. Consideration for others is a quality each of us has to learn to develop. The new-born babe cares little for the comfort and convenience of anyone else. He wants what he wants when he wants it. So right at that point in his development he begins to learn, little by little, that there are others alive, too, and that, to some extent at least, he will have to allow them some consideration. But selfishness is a common human trait, and it lessens in each of us only through development. When we get old enough to understand that such feelings are not good, we feel a twinge of guilt when we indulge in selfishness. This is good for it causes us to think twice when the occasion arises and we can choose between pleasing ourselves or pleasing others concerned.”

Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 18 – Can You Attract Happiness?

There was a particular interviewee who was a best selling author in Australia who was suppose to come on and talk about Happiness.  Obviously that didn’t happen, so here I am in the latter stages of this book talking about Happiness.

Can you attract it?

Happiness, depression, repression, guilt, enthusiasm…they’re all conditions and adjectives that we can inherit at any time. That’s a fact.

Striving after happiness is also about focusing on your core values.  Your belief systems.  What are you around? Are you around all types of positive circumstances? If so, you’ll unconsciously attract great things to you.

“I want to be happy …” A popular song starts off with words that contain a great deal of truth: “I want to be happy, but I won’t be happy, ’til I make you happy, too!”
One of the surest ways to find happiness for yourself is to devote your energies toward making someone else happy. Happiness is an elusive, transitory thing. And if you set out to search for it, you will find it evasive. But if you try to bring happiness to someone else, then it comes to you.”

And then there was this.  Have you ever felt an unbelievable amount of joy when you did something for someone else? Let me put it to you like this.  I had a student who was smiling from one corner of his eye to the other.  He had come into my place of work to surprise me.  In just 6 hours teaching, I taught him how to pass the IELTS examination, catapulting him to England (where he’s going to school now).  I sat down and I was just so overjoyed that I helped someone achieve such an amazing victory in life.

That will stay with me forever.

It’s like the video that Gary Vee recently posted about the lady giving him her gun license, sobbing and saying “I don’t need this anymore.”  That is the moment of true fulfillment.  Stopping someone from committing suicide. Ok, that’s probably not happiness, but that’s utterly fulfilling.

Positive Mental Attitude: Season 2 – Episode 17 – Alcoholism & Mental Illness

“But a cure for alcoholism is not so easy to come by as education in hygiene. Alcoholism ranks as the fourth largest health problem in the nation. It follows mental and moral disease and is one of the greatest contributors to those two diseases. The economic cost of alcoholism is 25 billion dollars per year. The greater portion of this is loss of time to industry, followed by hospital costs and physical damages—caused mainly by automobile accidents. But the money loss is negligible compared to the loss of physical, mental, and moral health, and the loss of life attributable to alcoholism.
An alcoholic has a mental illness which lies dormant until his first drink. If he doesn’t start the habit, liquor doesn’t have the power of attraction for him. If he drinks, the affinity is strong, and he will drink to excess. If he drinks to excess, the attraction may become irresistible, or seem so. And when he tries to resist and doesn’t succeed, he may believe he cannot be cured.”

This resonates probably within a lot of readers.  This is brutal for me to read because I saw my brother becoming just that.

After coming back from Australia in 2012, my brother had balls in his back.  No one knew what the balls were, but they were hurting them.  He was working for a company called Stanley Steamers, a company that cleans the rugs of citizens’ homes. It got worse and worse over the next month with my brother becoming an irritable, angry, 26-year-old guy who went from being at the pinnacle, to collapsing back down to zero.

He had surgery and was in a tremendous amount of pain for the next couple of months.

Now, his habits were betting and alcoholism.  After he came home from work, he would go out and drink — five nights a week.  Who knows what else he did, but that’s what I saw.  He would always say “I’m hungover,” and again, he was turning more into an animal.  My youngest sister didn’t like being around him because he got angry quickly.  He bossed my mother around and he would always aggravate my sister.

Could it be because of alcoholism? It’s definitely one of the factors.

“What happens to excessive drinkers? Alcohol is known to alter the brain waves as recorded by the scientific instrument known as an electroencephalograph. It has a most potent influence on nerve cell metabolism which results in slow rhythms and eventual suppression of voltage and brings about a change in the level of consciousness.

Sanity is that healthy state of mind when the activities of the conscious and the subconscious are in proper balance. And while they work together, each has its specific duties; each has inhibiting factors. While sometimes it is healthful and wholesome for a person to do the things he wants to do but which are forbidden, judgments and actions should be the result of the conscious and subconscious working in balance.

In Las Vegas, anytime I would walk down the streets of Las Vegas Boulevard and Owens, there would be a lot of alcoholics roaming the streets, homelessly and wearing USA Veteran hats.  At night, I would be acosted by some angry drunks saying, “ey, man, you got any change?”

“No, I have food though.”

“I DON’T WANT FOOD!”

“Alcoholism is indeed a dread disease. If allowed to control a person’s life, it can render that person physically, mentally, and morally ill and send him to a living hell. Once alcohol has gained control in a person’s life, it does not readily relinquish its hold.
But there is a cure!

This is the bottomline.  If you complain and emanate feelings of negativity, you will die early.  That’s the basis of everything.

Think about it.  Back in 2015, I was constantly berating myself with the “loser sob” stories that created my reality “at the time.”  I lived in a neighborhood where I got dirty looks….that’s my fault (100% accountability).  I was around the biggest losers in my life (teachers at my old job) and the things they said…were uninspiring, malicious and repugnant….I became the chatter.  All of these things, including death threats from Thai Airways’ workers, were coming in by herds.  I needed to breakaway from the ignorance.  I needed to finally cut off the dead weight of losers and free myself to learn and expand on the true meaning of life.

HMMMM! Just think about it.  Those people in those “whiney bitch party” groups at work, what ends up happening?

There’s a story.  Her name was Nancy.  Nancy was a worker at the Dental Faculty Practice at the College of Southern Nevada.  She was a very nasty human being.  She mistreated not only the patients, but all of the workers.  She was rude, snappy, and just about everything else in the book.

Not sure how long she was like this for, but it had to be for years.  A year after I left to come to Thailand, Nancy was killed in a car accident.  Four people in the car, and the other three were unscathed.  Nancy was the only one that perished.

Am I saying this is related to her sinning constantly by being unkind to everyone? Could be.  No one will ever know, but I don’t want to be that unfortunate mother/father, brother/sister that gets a phone call saying, “sorry, your _________ has passed away,” regretting everything she ever was.
