Wheel of Life | Year In Review | Romantic Relationships | 2

As I’ve told you guys before, I’m going to go over every individual category in the Wheel of Life over the course of this month until Christmas. Today, I’m beginning with Romantic Relationships because it’s the easiest category.

I must say that I made a number of mistakes at the beginning of the year. To kick off the New Year, there was already an argument and someone saying “I need space.” Later on that week, and when the pollution had gotten increasingly worse, we were supposed to meet up a shopping plaza, but because she doesn’t have good awareness, it took more than a half-hour to meet, ending in an argument, me paying for my bill, and storming off. She sent me a message later on that night saying, “I don’t think it’s going to work,” and that was the end.

It was laughable, but her wish was granted until I let her back in my second time around. Huge mistake. Sure, at the beginning (and before my trip to Malaysia), we had dinner, said our goodbyes and I told her that I would go to Vietnam to visit her. Within a week she said, “I don’t want a low-quality relationship,” ending it for the second time.

It was frustrating, but I said “good, goodbye.” She came back around three months later and I laughed hysterically. I said, “what do you want?” She thought she could literally just “sorry” her way back in for the third time? My dumbass, let her. Lol. This time I visited Vietnam and got a great insight into what could potentially come for my career. In about a month after that, she was gone again. The best part was I turned to a 1995 film by the name of “Money Train” and used a slogan right out of the money to frankly tell her to “fuck off.” Omg, great times.

What did I learn? The first time is enough. The second time you’re dumb. The third time you’re desperate. You lose.

Did I get better? I think I did….through personal development, but because relationships are so topsy-turvy, there’s not much else I can do but grow as an individual.

How was your year?

Wheel of Life with Celina Celeste: Christmas Edition – Full Year Review (2018)

Man! What a year this was! Looking back on all of my wheel of life’s throughout the year, I was a scared boy in the beginning.  I’m super surprised that I made it this far in Thailand, this year, without giving up.  Looking where I was at the beginning, trying to get away from one of the most toxic jobs I’ve ever been a part of (and for a wicked three years), and seeing where I am now?! Just how did it happen? Well, this podcast isn’t only about myself, but it’s about Celina, who joins me on this gorgeous Christmas morning to give grace to what was a life-changing year for her, too! Here are my scores, a rundown, and then the podcast.

Personal Development – 10

Why am I starting off with one of the highest marks? Well, honestly….if it wasn’t for Napoleon Hill’s Mental Attitude, Gary Vee in my ear, communicating with entrepreneurs all around the globe…no way this could’ve been so high.  From meeting Luke Burrows in February, to Celina (you) in March, and interviewing an author named David Mauro in the early stages of the year — kicking off a spectacular run — no words can describe it.

Since then I’ve co-host a show with Luke Burrows called Motivational Mentors.  I’ve brought entrepreneurs from Malaysia on and even hired a content writer, Jiun Ting Yong, who’s been doing show notes and write-ups on TheArsenioBuckShow.com.  I got rid of a toxic graphic designer and hired another one from Myanmar who’s done very diligent work for me. I’m not speaking to coaches, mentors, entrepreneurs and others all around the globe, exchanging ideas on a daily basis.  This year, in terms of people individuals, has topped the previous 29 years of my life…and it’s not even close.

Physical Environment – 9.5

At the beginning, I was shrugging off a toxic work environment, and that’s basically it.  After that, and towards the end of the year, perfect workplace with flexible hours, communicating with big companies all over Bangkok who are asking me for services, and living at a perfect condo. I can’t complain.

Career – 10

This absolutely correlates with personal development. Yes, I could’ve launched some projects, but now on the dawn of the New Years, I have a course coming out on the Grow2Gether Academy.  I’ll be making a test with Celina, herself, for an English Test Preparation course, I’m launching The Arsenio Buck Foundation and my TOEIC grammar EBook in January.  That’s about 30% of what’s happening.  Honestly, since I dumped that job, my life has completely changed. COMPLETELY!

Wealth – 7

This category remains stagnant.  Grateful, but not much of a change from the beginning of the year.  Why? Literally freelancing and hustling and have been since the beginning.  From the beginning of my new life (after my old job) until now, I don’t have a “legit job,” therefore it’s pretty hard to know what’s coming and what’s not.  Plan for the New Years? Make multiple streams of income, and three of them will be launched at the beginning of the year.  No more working for money….let money work for me.

Health – 9

Aside from some ailments that weren’t serious, I achieved one of the biggest goals of my life (the Spartan Trifecta).

Fun & Hobbies – 10

7 countries.  Yes, i had to go based on being pressured by a Thai government, but being able to go to HK (somewhat of a forgettable trip), and my wondrous Singapore twice, was a blessing.  Yes, going back to Malaysia to meet my newly employed content writer in April, and having gone back to Malaysia in July AGAIN for some fun, was another blessing.  I began making my own schedule with my job, and having that type of control means all the difference in the world.

Romantic Relationships

This was by far, the worst year.  Well, it’s a year that I stayed focused and didn’t want to get emotionally involved with ANYONE. It ended up playing dividends and helping me.  I didn’t let anyone (women — lol) inside my close circle.  I kept it tight with the most reliable people in my life, and I didn’t suffer any massive heartbreaks or fallouts.

Family & Friends – 4

It’s not a bad 4.  I know, extremely low.  Family doesn’t exist and I didn’t add any friends, but it’s the smartest decision EVER.  I don’t want to add new friends, ANYMORE, to my closed circle.  They will forever being on the outside because I simply don’t trust “friends,” I only trust those that give me oxygen.

Coaching Session #001: Figuring Out Where Your Depression is Coming From

It was a coaching session like no other; in fact it was with a significant language barrier in between the both of us.

I first received a message from one of the girls that works at a place I’m part-timing at. She said she wanted to talk to me about something serious, so I immediately thought  something went bad — AGAIN — at work in regards to a student.

However, that wasn’t the case.  Previously i had coached one of my colleagues to snap out of her depression, and it worked.  So, the second staff member approached me and it was time to be the coach.

I made her do the “Wheel of Life” podcast and she became aware of what was going on in her life.  On a scale 1-10, and rating 8 categories, her highest mark was seven, which didn’t make any sense.  So her outer feelings and what is going on in her life is very apparent.  Here’s what she had.

Health – 5 – low blood pressure, dizzy, tired quickly

Wealth – 3 – no car, home, business, can’t take care of mother,

Career – 1 – absent-minded, indecision

Personal Development – 0 – cannot create happiness

Physical Environment – 3 – high competition, selfishness

Fun & Hobbies – 0 – no time or money

Family & Friends 7 – friends are there but not all

Physical Environment – 4

Romantic Relationships – 4 – lots of negative feelings towards love (6 entries)

So, here is what she wrote down (via google translate), and as you scan see, it focuses primarily on what she doesn’t have.  There’s conditioning happening here, which is not unusual, but she’s holding onto a lot of past things that aren’t suitable anymore.

Health revolves around her personal development.  Tired quickly, gets dizzy, etc….there could be a massive deficiency on so many levels in terms of vitamins, nutrients, minerals — but remember — it’s not what you see on the surface.  It’s much deeper than that.

Wealth is a fixed mindset.  She focuses on things she doesn’t have that I don’t have.  I don’t have a car or own a home, either.  It all depends on preferences, and because she believes success relates to materialistic things, she thinks she’s a failure for not having these things.

Physical Environment, in a place where competition is very high and ignorance amongst her colleagues, of course she’s going to hate it.  Little money? Of course! But why do you continue doing something that gives you no ROI? Is she happy doing the job? No way.

What to do?

What are her beliefs? What negative beliefs does she have on the subjects above? She needs to write them down and then write down something outrageously opposite from her belief.  This is when it begins to change.  You have to get rid of all the “have nots and don’t haves” and turn them into positive, reassuring statements because the subconscious doesn’t know what’s right from wrong.  It just takes in everything you feel, and in her case, she feels like complete s***.

Put one good food into her diet a day. There are plenty of mood-boosting foods out there in the world.

Career is a toss-up.  I can’t ask her what she does, but she definitely needs to do the “how to find your life purpose” questionnaire to get somewhat guidance.

Hate your job? Time to change it.  Hate something else? Drop it.  I’m a super advocate for taking out negativity.  My workplace has become an unbearable environment to be in over the last couple of weeks because of petty stuff.  What have I done? Start looking for new work.  That’s the basis.  Is it long-term where you’re working? Ok, you need to pay the bills….keep doing that, but never take ignorant bosses berating you over your sanity.  If that happens, goodbye.  Trust me, you will find something when you stop a herd of negativity from coming into your life.

Wheel of Life: October 2018 Edition – Closing Out The Year

Another month, another close.  Yes, it’s been a year with far more ups than downs, but the closing is coming to an end.

How will you leave your mark?

For those of you tuning in for the first time, this is a podcast that’s for people who are willing to identify what areas of life are their strengths and which ones they’ve been neglecting.  Here are the categories.

  • Personal development
  • Physical environment
  • Romantic relationships
  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Career
  • Fun & Hobbies
  • Family & Friends

Rate yourself from 1-10 in each category and be brutally honest about yourself.  Once you understand what areas are suffering, now you’re consciously aware and can make a change.  Here are not only my categories, but what I need to improve in.

Improvement Stages Launch

Normally I’ve talked about my main scores followed by explanation, but I want to see where I can improve.  It’s not about becoming a perfectionist, but improving.

Physical Environment – *3

So, in terms of my physical environment, I believe that it can increase significantly.  First and foremost, my separate projects outside my main place of work are great.  A turning point happened at my job where someone “bitched” at me over something that isn’t even worth repeating (ok, it was about writing on a back of a sheet of paper), but it made me realize “maybe this place doesn’t deserve a teacher like me?”  When she did this, I scratched my head and said, “I’m not going to get my visa until early next year…and that’s if I’m still here.”

That’s called a yellow flag, folks.  Never fully commit when you have nastiness happening.

I’m now cancelling a lot of my availability with the job — because I CAN.  I’m also focusing on my main projects, but that and a couple of blackouts at my condo has hampered the everlasting 10 you would see on a continuous basis.

Physical Environment – *2

I could’ve increased my personal development by a large margin if I just know how to end my day.

I’ve been scuffling and trying to figure out an evening routine that’s suitable for m Because I finish work so ridiculously late, it’s very hard for me to end my day effectively (no excuses.  It all deals with my phone.  If I’m able to listen to affirmations or listen to my “calm” application, which has some nice story-telling to put me in a good state of mind, I win.  However, I haven’t been able to do that.

So, there are several things that I will implement. Tune into my podcast down below for that!

Career – *1.5

Honestly, I’m on the right track.  The comments, the love, the support, the things I’m attracting…but my actions are still not showing that I’m hungry for my ebook and webinar launch.

Wealth – *5

This was the category that made me upset.  I should be making a solid figure per month at my day job, but I’m not — STILL.  So, what can I do to buck the trend? In the podcast!

Because I don’t want to make this long extra long, I decided put everything into my podcast down below to here how I’m able to cope with things that aren’t working.

Wheel of Life: September 2018 Edition – Grateful!

Period! Need I say more? Man, just looking back on some things that have happened at the beginning of this year and last year.  You know, some time around December, I remember going to a fitness class in the heart of Bangkok and seeing two Australian Air Force personnel and meeting them.  They were so happy and content, and the first time I met them, I opened up about moving to Bangkok and sharing them my story in terms of dealing with all the shenanigans of my last job.

I recall sharing other stories with the likes of personal trainers and I was under such distressed, completely unaware of what was going to happen in the future.  After contacting Chilean teaching headhunters and other corporations, I decided to possibly venture out and get out of Thailand.  Going back and forth with a place that was barely giving me any work because the vindictive revenge that they had in mind, I needed to get the hell outa there.

I got some part-time jobs here and there.  Two women, who were nice at the beginning of the year, helped me with March-May because of teaching TOEFL iTP at their small testing center.  I accepted a contract that I thought was steep (initially but it ended up being complete bullshit) and worked way outside Bangkok with another guy that looks 89 years old.  I had another side gig at a place that I found quite enjoyable (teaching a doctor) in an area that was just beautiful (but takes 1.5 hours to get home).  You guys understand, now.  The beginning of this year was tough.  It was bleak.  I got two jobs through emails and then turned down because the students wanted a “white” teacher.  I began applying for jobs in Malaysia, Tunisia, France, Spain, etc.  Lots of different offers were coming in, but I kept at it and stayed strong here.  Guess what? It all paid off.

Nonetheless, I just want to review the hardships because that’s where the primary growth takes place.  I never learn from seemingly non-stop success.  So to see myself on what looks like the pillar of success, is the greatest thing that has ever happened.  I’m humble, but here’s my Wheel of Life.

Darren Hardy: Daily Rhythms & Registering Them + Relationships

Preston Smiles fits “fun-time” into his clients’ schedules.

What’s fun-time?

It’s simply when an alarm goes off, that particular individual drops everything he or she is doing and they dance their tail off.  I know, odd as hell, but the incorporation of that, or any other behavior, forms a discipline.

Remember I talked to you about Romanic Relationships and how spontaneity would go a long way in any relationship? Look at it this way…

Darren Hardy, at 6pm, has something called “date night” with his wife.  So when the time arrives, the alarms go off on his spouse and his phone, they drop everything, and they commit to being with each other from sundown — all the way to sunup.  This is from Friday night to Sunday morning, too.  Not just one day.

He also used an idea from Jack Canfield’s ‘Success Principles’ book, which he asks his wife, “how would you rate the relationship for this past week?” Of course the wife would give him a number, and he would then ask, “how can I get better?”  The wife will then come up with a list of things that will help him become better.

No one is perfect.  Just remember that.  It would be so overwhelming hearing nagging (which it shouldn’t be – but totally can be) all the time.  For example, when I was recently dating a girl, she wouldn’t ask me something like this; nor would I ask her the question.  Instead, on a two-hour trip back from Kanchanaburi to Bangkok, she was complaining her head off because I didn’t ask her if she wanted anything from 7-11, and because I didn’t carry all four pieces of luggage.

This should be a feeling of validation for both parties.

“Every month, Georgia and I also schedule something unique and memorable. Jim Rohn taught me that life is simply a collection of experiences; our goal should be to increase the frequency and the intensity of the good experiences. Once a month we try to do something that creates an experience that has some memorable intensity. It could be driving up to the mountains, going on an adventurous hike, driving up to Los Angeles to try a new fancy restaurant, going sailing in the bay—whatever. Something out of the ordinary that has a heightened experience and creates an indelible memory.”

“Once a quarter we plan a two- to three-day getaway. I like to do a quarterly review of all my goals and life patterns, and this is a great time to do a deeper check-in on how things are going in our relationship. Then we have our special travel vacation, plus our holiday traditions and our New Year’s hike and goal-setting ritual. You can see that once all this is scheduled, you no longer have to think about what you need to be doing. Everything happens naturally. We’ve created a rhythm that gives us momentum.” – Darren Hardy

December Is Here – Rate Your Year!

Let’s see if there has been any progression in your life.  On a scale-1-10, 1 being the worst and ten being the best, I want you to evaluate the areas of your life — just like the Wheel of Life but over the entire year.

The areas: fun and hobbies, personal development, wealth, health, physical environment, romantic relationships, friends and family, career.

For each segment listed above, write down in vivid detail why you gave that particular category the score it has.  Here are mine!

Career – 9.0

BOOM! I’ll have to admit that I had two big separate projects back in 2016, but this year has been far more successful than last because I’ve done it ALL BY MY SELF! Literally.  I’m so proud of myself.  Regardless of what has taken place in the month of “change” (November), this year has been astonishing and next year I’m sure I’ll be maxing out at 10.0.  That’s an absolute given — given the circumstances.

Personal Development – 9.0

This was definitely the year I’ve read the most books in my entire life — and I’m not talking about “school” books, either.  The more I read, the more I applied, and then came the ability to apply everything in situations that tested my self-control.  Books such as Dale Carnegie’s ‘How To Stop Worry & Start Living,’ along with a few others, have changed my life.  Not only my life, but the life of others around the world.

Physical Environment – 5.0

Yes, there were times even at home that I was kept up until 1am because of hooligans and slum-dogs playing rambunctious music to attract prostitutes – literally. That’s no joke.  In a year that was filled with ups-and-downs in the workplace with some teachers getting a hell of a lot more than I; and then filled with threats towards my job because of racism — then was the turning point.  And that turning point is going to be the best one of my life!

Health – 9.0

Spartan Races in Kuala Lumpur and Chon Buri and a Tough Mudder (half) in Mesa, Arizona, USA……this was the best year of my life for races.  This was the best year in terms of body transformation because I look gorgeous when I’m naked (no pun intended), and aside from the few occasional sore throats, I was never really hampered by a severe cold.  BOOM!

Wealth – 9.5

This was the wealthiest year of my life.  Now, if might not sound like it because of what I said in the physical environment section, but let me list the countries I went to.

America

Malaysia

Maldives

Layovers: Singapore, South Korea, Japan.

I was suppose to go to Singapore and stay there for the big Spartan competition next month (which would have catapulted me into the trifecta), but I decided not to.  These were some pretty unbelievable and memorable trips (especially the Maldivian trip – ) and definitely trump the previous year (although Bali was extraordinary and I still miss it to this day).  How was I able to do all of this? Because the money I saved up.

Romantic Relationships – 2

Now, there was promise.  A particular someone came and went.  LOL.

The second one….well, we will see how that turns out.  Ain’t nothing else to report in this section.

Fun & Hobbies – 9

Boat ride, night fishing, turquoise waters, Tough Mudder, Spartan, Hiking, Sedona, meeting wonderful people, 5-star hotels, travel.  Oh, yes, yes, and HELL yes.

Friends & Family – 6

Now, this came and went, too.  It’s hard to put everything into one paragraph about friends and family.  Well, not much of a family to be honest (as per usual), but the amount of people who have come and gone, including a great friend (who I think is still just angry about the entire situation that took place), was nuts.  I’ll speak more about that in the podcast down below!

Feelings of Sadness – Identified The Problem & Set Myself Up To Win

I, just like everyone else, have the same problems just like any other human being on this planet.  There are times that I get sucked into a state of mind that I can’t escape for several hours.  A feeling of discontent; probably stemming from a mishap, miscommunication, and depreciation of another human being.  Yes, someone who I thought was awesome turned into a needy, materialistic princess.  This past Tuesday was Day 1.  I knew that it wasn’t going to work, so I distanced myself immediately and she vanished.  However, that void needs to be filled.  Because the void isn’t filled yet, there was a feeling of emptiness throughout the day that put me into a melancholic state of mind.

So, what did I do?

Step 1: Look Back At The Wheel of Life

So, because the Romantic Relationship aspect of my wheel plummeted significantly, this explains why I’m experiencing such feelings.  Someone just walked right out of my life.  Understandable.  The feelings I had going on explained my current state of mind.  Anytime a category falls very fast, very quickly, you’re going to experience ‘negative’ feelings.  Not talking to her anymore means that void is open.  The void is open and it has to be filled.

I went on to ask myself ‘what areas of my life am I neglecting currently? Friends and Hobbies.

Sure, I went on a trip to Kanchanaburi recently, but then it was overshadowed by constant nagging and resulted in a fallout.  I need to also look back and ask myself, “what am I doing on a routine basis that brings me joy?” Sure, running and working out, but I’m talking about in the friendship realm.  My best friend, who I’ve known for the longest, is a goner.  Someone who I spent a great amount of time talking to on a routine basis is now gone. A couple others’ communications are decreasing significantly….so what should I do? MAKE NEW FRIENDS!

There’s an app I use on a routine basis that landed me three purposeful relationships as of late; most notably, a teacher in Costa Rica that gave me an email that changed my life (later podcast). These people can come and go, though.  In retrospect, history has shown that I can create some lifelong relationships with some individuals.  I decided to sign up for some activities with the gym I go to.  There’s a massive park activity happening on the 16th of December where a lot of people will compete in a competition.  This is where I can meet likeminded people who are on the same wavelengths as me.  BOOM! I never used to do this because of work obligations, but now it’s time to become selfish and put “me” first.

This will fulfill the void soon and I’ll be able to meet people.

Practice What I Preached: Keep Myself Busy

Depression, which I don’t have, happens because you’re focusing too much on yourself rather than other people.  On days I have a lot of free-time, I schedule blogs, podcasts, videos, do writing, research, set up ads and other things.  I keep myself as busy as possible and this works because I take my mind off things I cannot control (circle of concern) and focus primarily on things I can control (circle of influence).

Anytime you’re in the gutter, look at the eight categories: personal development, physical environment, romantic relationships, fun & hobbies, family and friends, career, wealth, health.  When you do this, you can identify the problem and solve it rather than letting it seep into your next workday, week, month, or even year.

Wheel of Life: A Change Is Needed!

Another monthly wheel of life update!  For those of you tuning into my blog for the first time, this is an excellent way of evaluating your life and figuring out what areas of your life need work and which areas you’ve been neglecting.  You have to be brutally honest with yourself about this process.  When you face the truth, you’re more prone to making proactive decisions towards making your life better.  If you give yourself high marks in the very beginning, I can tell that you’re not being honest with yourself.

Here are my scores for the month….

Family & Friends – 8

Romantic Relationships – 3?

Career – 7

Personal Development – 9

Health – 6

Fun & Hobbies – 7

Physical Environment – 7

Wealth – 8

Eight categories need grading on a scale 1-10.

Here’s my podcast down below for more of an explanation.

Wheel of Life: Highest Average Ever!

We’re back again at my monthly wheel of life!  Again, I’ve posted this a many of times before, and this makes me realize if I have balance in my life.  The balance that’s needed to complete fulfilment.  Now, there are a couple categories that I have no control over (romantic relationships), but everything else is on complete fire at this point and I’m more than happy to write a quick blog on it; along with a podcast!

So, rate each category: health, career, wealth, physical environment, romantic relationships, fun & hobbies, family & friends, and personal development.

Here’s my podcast on how I achieved the highest average ever, but more importantly, I would love to connect with everyone who reads this blog by using figuring out where you are in each category before posting it on my Facebook page: The Arsenio Buck Show.
