WOW! Welcome to my new joint-podcast featuring Mira Butler and I. At the time, we started with four but the others weren’t in alignment with the overall purpose of this podcast so now it’s just Mira Butler and I. In the future, we will attract more to us.
Because I’m the first podcast debuting, I need to give a solid introduction behind why I started a new podcast. Mira Butler and I have done a ton of work together, and we’re trying to conjure up ways to expand our reach. We began with the IG lives because we realized they would play a pivotal role in creating our tribe, but having a podcast, too, would obviously push things out there at a far-quicker pace. Our goal is to bring coaches with specialities in a wide-range of areas. Mira being a transformation coach, myself being an inspiration coach, and we’ll find others who specialize in other areas. There’s a lot to be spoken about and there will be an introduction podcast coming shortly, but today is my inspirational message.
SOME people might say you’re too fat, you’re too short, too straight, too gay. Whatever your sexual preference is, color of your skin, perception of life, values…just know that there will never be another YOU on this planet. In order to make your dreams come true, you have to be 100% authentic about who you are. If you’re even just slightly off, that could have a catastrophic effect on your passion.
In this episode, I talk about how people get into FAD or PWM (people without money) markets.
For example, Bitcoin was a FAD market. In 2018, the hysteria was insane. You had people making podcasts, videos, etc….and they all fell for it. Sure, Bitcoin still exists today, but the hysteria has gone away and the voices are now silent.
I read a post on FB yesterday that someone I knew once tried creating a business for new grads. Well, if you just graduated from university, more than likely you’re in debt — therefore, you’re in a PWM market. I’m not lucky, but when I entered the ESL space, I knew that this was a billion-dollar industry with a massive opportunity to go to AR/VR in the future with an insane amount of collaborations. So, because I’m worldwide, I’m not reliant on economies that have deteriorated (Thailand and probably have the countries on planet Earth). There are economies that are surging, at the moment, and because I’m a trainer and have specific skill-sets, I attract those individuals because I have assets.
I’m in a People-With-Money market. This is something you need to consider before starting a business.
Amazing podcast with Carla Trigo! I brought Carla on about a year ago today, and now she’s come back on to share some tips and give you guidance in terms of relationships and how to openly communicate. Because the restrictions of movement around the world, not only has domestic violence risen significantly but also divorces. Why? People are at home and they have to face what ISN’T working. In saying that, here is some bulletpoints on what we talk about with the podcast link below.
Not forcing friendships
Being spontaneous in a relationship
Roles within a relationship
Face what isn’t working
Essential oils and smells that arouse both men and women
When I teach my students a test preparation course called IELTS, which I’ve mentioned a many of times, I make sure I deliver on my results. When they tell me, “I need 5.5,” I tell them, “you’ll get a 6.0.”
Because I deliver on the promise. Not only that, but because if they aim for that score, they might get .5 short and not get the required score to get into their institution of choice.
I know the test from the back of my mind and I know all the techniques needed to past the test. I’m more than capable and absolutely have an insurmountable amount of capabilities. However, other teachers don’t focus on the outcome. They don’t “clarify” in the beginning, therefore it sets the students up for a catastrophic failure.
I was recently speaking on my podcast about an institution which I’ve lost all credibility for. This place in Bangkok is super overpriced and they just don’t deliver the results. I recommended a student to pay an extortionate amount because I had full trust in them, and not only did they destroy that trust, but my student ended up scoring far less.
In the future, I will never recommend that language center. Instead, I’m the language center I’ll recommend.
FedEx Built That Trust
One morning in 2013 (before moving here to Thailand), I was checking information on my package. It had been about 4 days and there was no delivery. I went on the internet and saw that the package was “left at the door.” Just a year before, Australia Post left my package at the door, underneath a rug (like no one would see it), and I was completely irate about it.
I thought the same happened during this debacle, so I contacted them, complained, yelled at innocent people outside, and went on a tangent for about 15 minutes.
Later, my sister calmly walked down the steps without saying a word, went to the closet near the bathroom, took out the package and handed it to me.
Boy, did I feel dumb.
30 minutes later I got a doorknock — and guess who it was — FedEx!
“I gave you that package.” he said without any introduction.”
I plead for forgiveness, we laughed it off, but it was the unbelievable service they provided. He drove down to talk to me about where my package was…..and that right there established my full faith in FedEx.
First and foremost, the majority of you need to understand how to be grateful. When I do this particular podcast, I love to outline just how to do that, so here it is!
Give me a list of 5 things you’re especially grateful for — unattached to money.
Give two people compliments throughout your day without being told to do it.
How can you develop a positive mental attitude?
From the beginning of last year, I started developing my mind rigorously — day-in and day-out. For most of you out there, development in general is something of the past. Some of you aren’t even into personal development, and you’ll be doing the same things (if you haven’t already started) this year just like you were doing last year. Same people, same irresponsibility, same habits, same everything. You have to train your mind, and it’s one of the most difficult things to do.
I recall going to Australia back in 2017 and a friend told me, “you’ve changed. You mention being black and you have a thing against caucasians like I’ve never seen before.”
Still carrying the weight of how society, as a whole, has treated me in this country….I was still a victim. In order to escape victimhood, you have to to hone in and own up to everything that has ever happened to you. The University of Hardknocks loves giving out degrees to just about everyone in the world; regardless of race, creed, color, religion, etc.
At the beginning of last year, and as desperate as I was, I came across Napoleon Hill’s Positive Mental Attitude and that was the beginning of the change.
From actionable steps, to habits….you have to train your mind. I’m done with the “I will” and I love “I’m going to” more…because that’s a plan. Will is in the future and will forever be in the future.
I’m so unbelievably grateful that I’m living in an age where ample opportunity is everywhere.
I’m very thankful for the support group I’ve created that constantly gives me feedback.
I’m proud of the fact that I’ve been able to develop my mind to the point that I get amazing ideas to improve my business and give back to the society.
With all my heart, thank you for the process last year….a process which was so desperately needed.
I had the special privilege of interviewing Celina Celeste on Facebook (Gary Vee’s page). She connected with me and we spoke for a while until I realized she had a podcast. I decided to reach out and ended up landing the first interview with her (on The Arsenio Buck Show’s FB page) as we talked about teaching and traveling. Now she’s on my podcast talking about a very turbulent job in the beginning — turned passion.
It’s amazing how she developed the self-awareness and asked herself, “do I see myself here for the next 10 years?” Working at a job she completely despised, she finally broke away from it and went onto the next chapter.
Now she has an unbelievable art page, organic dog treat business, and she’s creating a cookbook (currently). This is the entrepreneurial spirit!
